Subject: SHS – TEAM BUILDING, H&G FESTIVAL & CONVERGENCE 2018

I. Narrative Report

The HUMSS & GAS Students’ Organization (HGSO) slated various activities for

the conduct of Convergence, Team Building and HUMSS and GAS Festival 2018. After

the series of meetings and upon approval of the principal, the organization started to

disseminate the information to the participating students, after which ten teams were

created.

Led by the HGSO officers, the program started at 6:30 AM with a Zumba

performance. It was formally opened after an hour with an Opening prayer, National

Anthem, Opening Spiel, Welcome Address, Statement of the Purpose, Informative

Speeches, Induction, Academic Competitions, Simultaneous Games, and Leader’s

Ramp. HUMSS and GAS class advisers & subject teachers attended the said event.

Present also here Sir Julius C. Libay, Ma’am Josephine T. Alloso, and Sir Honorato E.

Tejada. Where this activities accomplished to:

1. Provide an avenue for the oath taking ceremony of all the HUMSS and GAS Officers.

2. Foster camaraderie and friendship amongst the students.

3. Expose talents and hidden potentials of the HUMSS and GAS Students and Officers.

4. Engage students on the different specialized subjects under HUMSS Strand such as

Understanding Culture Society and Politics (UCSP), Politics and Governance,

Disciplines and Ideas in the Applied Social Sciences (DIASS), Discipline and Ideas in

the Social Sciences (DISS), Philosophy, and World Religion.


Impact of the Activity:

1. The activity was participated by HUMSS and GAS students and supported by all

HUMSS and GAS advisers and subjects teachers;

2. Knowledge, skills, and values were honed and developed through engaging to

various activities such as Radio Drama, Smart Talking, Spoken Poetry, Lip Sync

Battle, Political Debate, Slogan Making, Poster Making, and Essay Making

Contest;

3. The students were able to learn about social issues and established social

awareness which provides great help in upholding human rights and promoting

social justice; an essential competency for the HUMSS and GAS Students to

acquire;

4. Fostered camaraderie and rapport between and among HUMSS and GAS

students through team building;

5. TEAM BUILDING, HUMSS & GAS FESTIVAL and CONVERGENCE was

participated by 738 students and supported by all HUMSS and GAS Teachers;

6. The officers of the HGSO proponents had learnt from the experiences from the

event and challenged its efficiency; and

7. Goals and objectives were met based on the post-evaluation conducted by the

organization.

Future Direction

As the first activity prior to the opening celebration of the HUMSS and GAS

Strand that compels 3 different activities that will hone their talents, skills, and

potentials. The contents of these activities formulated from the specialized and core

subjects of the HUMSS and GAS Strand whereas the students can be equipped and

prepare their capabilities to the environment and challenges that the strand offers.

The aftereffect of this activity to the students can mold them to adhere into the

standards of the strand, it can set their actions based on their innate abilities, skills, and
talents that can be applicable as their advantages into future’s challenges and

competitions.

The organization plans to conduct the activity annually. Integration of Humanities

and Social Sciences specialized subjects will be sustained through various activities

such as MANGLIMPYO TA HUMANISTAS, and Social Care Services HGSO commits

itself to better serve the studentry and provide meaningful programs to enhance

HUMSS and GAS intellectual, psychosocial, and physical capabilities.
