YOUNG MINDS, SCRUTINIZING INTELLEGENCE
LEGITIMACY OF PARTICIPANTS
The BAASCo Tycoons’ Week will be limited only to the College of Business Administration and Accountancy Students’ participation. This will
require a bona fide student enrolled in the College of Business Administration to participate in the events of Tycoons’ Week 2020.
DEBATE CHALLENGE
This open-debate is an opportunity for the youth to be part of a community who aims to enhance communicative skills and critical cognitive skills.
Objectives
MSU-GSC Tycoons Week is advocating an online competition that aims the youth at-large to be trained in the fields of public discourse and
debates towards on our well-timed and significant issues in the status quo. “Debate Challenge” seeks to:
a. Provide the youth an online avenue to think critically, enhance communication abilities, improves cognitive skills, creative problem solving and
increase self-confidence as this platform enables the youth to gain training on different key concepts as a debater;
c. Engage the youth in online information analysis that fuels their development in their academic research skills;

5. Reply Speech
More often than not, reply speakers would just simply talk about how he/ she felt the debate went through and why should the adjudicator
give the win to their side (biased adjudication). Reply speech has no bearing to the adjudication’s decision but will affect the TOTAL TEAM
SCORE. To put it simply, a reply speaker would say, “Adjudicators, make my team win please.”
ONLINE PLATFORM
CBAA Tycoons Week is creating events that are in most probable means to avoid any violation of Executive Order No. 112, s. 2020. “Debate
Challenge” will be using DISCORD as an online platform to make this tournament possible.
Discord is a web-based video conferencing tool with a local, desktop client and a mobile app that allows users to meet online, with or without
video. Discord users can choose to record sessions, collaborate on projects, and share or annotate on one another’s screens, all with one easy-to-
use platform
