Colour

Hue:
This refers to the original colour like red, orange, green etc. These
are the primary and secondary colours on the colour wheel which
helps show two opposite colours that work well together,
complementary.

Saturation:
Is an intensity or purity of a colour being shown in scene or the entire
movie. The higher the saturation, the more vivid the colours become
while the lower saturation drains the colours out, making the colours
seem more dull or grey-ish.

Brightness:
How bright or dark the colour appears in a scene/ image. This can set
the mood in a scene or the entire movie and the way the viewers feel
about a character. Being bright is lively and happy whilst if the
colours where died down it would be sad or lifeless.

Colours can evoke emotions as we associate colours with feelings or

emotions. The colours used in movies serve a purpose to how the
character is presented or the emotion they are feeling. For instants if
a character was seen consistently wearing blue or shown in blue
lighting, we would know that they are confident, heroic, calm or
isolated.
