GRADE 9 AFRKIAANS INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR WORK TO DO FOR THE MONTH OF JULY

There are 4 weeks in July before you are due to return to school in August. You have 4 lessons in
week 2 and 5 lessons in week 1. Most of your work will be to read: short stories and a drama – all in
your 2 leesboeke. Please remember, ALL literature is important – you will be having a literature test
in term 3 for an official assessment.

Week 1:

 Start reading the drama, Die Halssnoer. It is in your Afrikaans Sonder Grense Lessboek,
pg.93. By the end of the first week you must have read from pg. 93 to 102. There will be a
set of questions on these pages for you to answer. (In your klaswerkboek)
 Read the short story, Jana se selfoon. (Afr. Sonder Grense, pg 43). Do the questions 1- 10 on
pgs 133 – 134 in your klaswerkboek.

Week 2:

 Carry on reading the Drama – by the end of the week you must have finished reading from
pgs 103 – 114. There will be a set of questions to answer with regards to these pages.
 Read the story, Dae van die Rooi Vlieer. (Afr. Sonder Grense, pg 50). There is a set of
questions in your work pack based on this story. Do in your klaswerkboek.

Week 3:

 If you need to finish the questions on Dae v/d rooi vlieer - complete now.
 Finish off the Drama. Do the last set of questions on the drama. (in your klaswerkboek).

Week 4:

 You need your Piekfyn Lessboek (big green one) – read the story, Melina sing ‘n noot. Page
35. There is a worksheet with questions on this story in your work pack. Do all in your
klaswerkboek.
