    Complete the following tasks in your home learning even book. Checklist: Reading / Word-study & Spelling / Basic Facts / Writing / Theme Mathematics
    Basic Facts Challenge Get an adult to orally test you for 3 minutes each night over 3 nights. On the 4th night complete the basic facts sheet. 1. Record your time 2. Get an adult to mark your work Spelling/Word-study Copy and learn the weekly list for your group. In your book write 1. The dictionary meaning for 5 words 2. Synonyms for another 5 words. Use a thesaurus to find as many as you can. On the computer use Microsoft word = Tools / Language / Thesaurus

    Reading You can read any material you like from chapter books, non fiction, newspaper Read for a minimum of 5 nights (5 x 15mins) Record the following

    Science Fair - With the time given at school you should be able to complete this project during class time. - Your home learning is to show and explain your science fair folder to your parents /caregivers. - This week we will begin publishing your investigation at school. Writing We are learning to show not tell. In class this week we have been writing a narrative / short story. As discussed it helps to write on topics you have had some experience in. 1. Use the planning sheet from last week to begin your short story. 2. Aim to draft and revise the next paragraph in your story.
