Project Title: Health Garden

I. Rationale

Herbal Medicine has been used for thousands of years. It is estimated that 80% of
world population rely on traditional herb medicine for primary health care. The
establishment and promotion of the Health Garden is a means of encouraging the
stakeholders, the community and the school to better understand herbal and have a healthy
diet. Creating an ample space for the health garden in the home and in the school is a great
way to educate the learners about their importance.

In as much as there are abundance of medicinal plants in the locality, it is therefore


proper to educate the public especially the students regarding its benefits through establishing
a Health Garden to be maintained by the school that provides the school and the community
an immediate source of medicine.

II. Objectives:

1.To construct a health garden that will serve as a ground of learning for the students and
the community.
2. To educate the students the benefits of establishing a health garden that provides
immediate source of medicines for the school and the community.
3. To help students gain self-confidence and a sense of responsibility along with new
skills and knowledge in gardening and landscaping
4. To maintain, beautify and diversify the schoolyard and the surroundings of the
learners’ house.
