Inspection Scheme

UT wall thickness measurement required at areas of high turbulence or areas where water may collect,
such as bends, downstream of control valves, changes in flow direction, low points, drain connections,
dead-legs, etc. Radiography may be considered as an alternative for wall thickness measurement where
insulation removal is problematic.

CML No. Component Inspection Required

Type
ST1 & ST2 Straight (>2”) UT Band Scan wall thickness inspection of the full circumference of
the pipe. Record the lowest measured thickness across the full
circumference of the pipe.
BE1-BE2 Bend (>2”) UT Band Scan wall thickness inspection of the full circumference of
the bend. Record the lowest measured thickness across the intrados,
extrados and both sides of the pipe.
WE1-WE3 Weld (>2”) A combination of compression and shear wave UT should be used to
identify areas of wall loss on the identified welds due to the threat
of preferential weld corrosion.
WE8-WE15 Weld (≤2”) Profile Radiography using a tangential technique at a SDD of greater
than 6”. Four piping walls are to be captured using two shots, 90
degrees apart.

All inspection and reporting is to be carried out in accordance with "C080-INEO-K-KF-0001-Rev 1.4 -
Inspection and Reporting Procedure".

Note 1: No previous inspection locations were noted on IH sheet, “IH Piping Rev 0. Siri and Satellites to
INEOS.xlsx”. As such new locations have been selected.
