a. How did you create the artwork? ( describe the methods, steps, etc.

you
used in making the artwork)
Because I may not have enough resources to generate my art, I came up with the
concept of using digital illustrations, which provides a variety of tools for adding color
and style to my artwork. To begin, I consider what might be a symbolic object which will
give meaning to my art that I will be laying on my canvas. I utilized the IbisPaint
application to sketch, outline, add shapes and shade my work by selecting any tools
included as I stroke with my finger.

b. What is the meaning of survival as portrayed in your artwork

My artwork was inspired by my self-reflection that unity is the solution to our present
problems in terms of political turmoil, pandemics, and societal challenges. Doing my part in
unification gives me the sensation of a foundation of changes for everybody in order for us to
endure. Unity is strength, and it is better than enmity against one another simply because you
have different opinions or ways of thinking. My work incorporates timer sand with community
embedded therein. I define the sand as the issue or difficulties we are currently experiencing,
which pours underneath the group of people who are about to drown in sand, which represents
problems. I also included a hand clutching a cork that was gathered from different individuals in
community in order to restrict the flow of sand and allow them to survive. And that is how I
express survival in this place full of hardships, but with hope for everyone to achieve a thriving
society.
