EXAMPLE
In a classroom setting, a teacher uses a standardized reading
comprehension test to evaluate the reading abilities of third-
grade students. The test compares the students' performance
to a larger national sample. The teacher then uses the norm-
referenced scores to determine the students' reading skills
compared to the national average. This information helps
identify students who may need additional support or
enrichment based on their relative performance.
