We had trouble coming up with a documentary idea so we put 3 ideas on a teams

media level 2 chat vote poll. The most popular one was the ghost stories,
Gloucester is rich in dark history so there is lots of places where we can research.

We are all interested in history and most of the group

wanted to do local history, some members were
intrested in the paranormal, as Gloucester has a deep
history of it. There were to be plenty of stories and
tales to pick from. Based on the ideas of YouTube
videos where they explore the haunted areas of the
world, this lead to the idea of doing local ghost and
haunting stories in location of the county of
Gloucestershire.

What inspired this
documentary, and how?
There are YouTubers such as Sam and Colby do
videos on paranormal, haunted-abandoned
locations and ghost stories; as well as Horrific Tales
& Ghostly Trails who explore in depth the spooky
tales of the areas based on their videos, which
inspire what is our work. Also documentaries such
as: Paranormal Investigation.

The New Inn
The New Inn has been up to date since
1450. Over the years there has been
reported paranormal activity. Examples:
shadows, objects moving, unexplained
noises and footsteps. It’s been known for
oldest image:
Lady Jane Grey who was proclaimed to
becoming queen of England and Ireland but
got sentenced to death at the age of 17.

There have been reports of two young

children who hide in the Cellar; they died in
most recent image:
a fire with their mother. Including the spirits
of Mary who had been killed in her room
and John Twynings who build the place.

Our target audience is those interested in paranormal internet content like

YouTube videos and internet blogs which has a mostly young audience. We
made a teams vote in the media chat and ghost stories and the paranormal
was the most popular topic to make a documentary on.

Our unique selling point is that there isn't

much documentaries on Gloucester and its
paranormal activity or local history. Our
documentary will entertain and inform our
audience. The documentary type will be a
expository documentary with elements of
an expository documentary.

During filming we are going to have to think about

issues that occur on location and
thinking about health and safety regulations. Will
we be able to film at the places but there are the
some of the things we have to think about, maybe
we need to get extra days to film.

We may also need to think about if the kit fails or

someone gets hurt, like someone could trip and
fall or the floor could cave in, and filming in
public we would need permission to film. Another
point to make is that we cant fake ghost stories
otherwise we will be lying to the audience, it
needs to be authentic stories.
