- ANTICIPATIONOF HEALTH HAZARDS- first principal, requires a survey.


- RECOGNITION OF HEALTH HAZARDS- second, recognize and understand the potential hazards of
the work environment.
- EVALUATION OF EXPOSURE- third, engineering, work, practice, and administrative controls are
the primary means.
- CONTROL OVER WORKER EXPOSURE- fourth, hazardous exposure is determined to be
unacceptable.
- CONFIRMATION OF CONTROL MEASURES- last, assessing the performance of hazard control
measures.

CLASSIFICATION OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH HAZARDS IN WORKPLACE.

- BIOLOGICAL HAZARDS- working with animals, people, or infectious plants.


EX. Viruses, bacteria, insects, animals, plants, humans.
- PHYSICAL HAZARDS- can cause harm without touching it.
EX. Slips, Trips, Falls, Exposure to loud noise, working from heights, vibrations, unguarded
machinery.
- ERGONOMIC HAZARDS- body positions and working conditions cause strain on your body
EX. Awkward posture, forceful motion, stationary position, direct pressure, vibration, extreme
temperature, noise, work stress.
- CHEMICAL HAZAEDS- expose to chemical preparation in the workplace.
EX. Poisoning, skin rashes, disorder of lung, kidney and liver.

REPUBLIC ACT 11058- safety and health should be primary concerns in any workplace.
ARTICLE 162- set and enforce mandatory occupational safety and health standards.
RULE 1040- health and safety committee shall be organized within 60 days.
