ACTIVITY NO. 10: MY EXPENSES

Objectives:
• Become acquainted with Microsoft Excel
• Create a workbook
• Work with basic formula in a worksheet
• Use worksheet data to insert charts
• Manipulate multiple worksheets
Step 1: Get started: Launch Microsoft Excel and create a blank workbook.
Step 2: Indicate Title: My College Expenses. Use the same title for the worksheet tab and assign
a worksheet color (except black).
Step 3: Worksheet Headings. Use the following as headings for your worksheet: Expenses and
Budget Allocated.
Step 4: Start Contents. Fill in your expenditures and budget allocations in a normal school week.
Sum them up underneath all the listed items using the addition formula. This step is important
for reference in the next steps below.
Step 5: Formatting. Customize your worksheet to desired Font styles and sizes. Feel free to add
borders for an organized and polished look.
Step 6: Insert Chart. Use your worksheet data and insert a Pie Chart for visual representation.
Adjust the chart to under your set of data.
Step 7: Repeat Steps. Use the same instructions to make your High School and Elementary
Expenses in separate tabs in different worksheet colors.
Step 8: Summary. Create a fourth Summary worksheet and assign the tab color into black. Use
reference cells in Step 4 to list the summary of your total expenses and budget allocations from
College, High school and Elementary and create a bar graph using those data.

Step 9: Save and attach. Save the workbook as Last Name - Expenses. Then go back to the
Google Classroom and attach the saved spreadsheet by clicking the Add or create button and
choose File.
Step 10: Turn it in. Do not forget to click the Turn in button to submit your assignment.
