Unpacking the self

It has been believed that the chromosomes of humans define sex (female or male) and
their secondary sexual characteristics. From childhood, we are controlled by our
genetic makeup. It influences the way we treat ourselves and others. However, there
are individuals who do not accept their innate sexual characteristics and they tend to
change their sexual organs through medications and surgery. Aside from our genes,
our society or the external environment helps shape our selves.
This activity you are going to answer the following questions.

What are the male secondary sexual characteristics/female secondary sexual

characteristics.
Secondary sexual characteristics are those sexually dimorphic characteristics that are
not directly involved in reproduction. For males, secondary characteristics include
facial and chest hair, increased body hair, pelvic build (lack of rounded hips), upper
body muscular build, and the ability to generate muscle mass at a faster rate than the
female. For females, secondary sex characteristics include relative lack of body hair,
thicker hair on the head (in some cases), rounded hips/figure, a decreased ability to
generate muscle mass at a fast rate, decreased upper body strength, breasts, ability to
nurse children, a menstrual cycle, and increased body fat composition.

When do you usually observe the changes listed above for males and females?
We observe changes when experiencing puberty to our selves.

Were you able to experience the same changes? When?

Yes , when I was in 7th grade I experienced that kind of changes into my body as a
woman.

If you were not able to experience the above listed changes, what might have caused
such difference?

How does the society shape the sexual behavior of an individual?

It is part of body aging cycle , society deals with it but sometimes some of aging
process of maturity delays on some persons and judge them by their actions so society
shapes the sexual behavior by judging and teaching the process .

Can we really change our natural or innate sexual organ and sexual response?
Yes, those who are willing to change their sexual organ can go through a surgery and
medication processes, but you have to waste a lot of money so you can change it. And
for the sexual response is it depend on the person that is willing to change themselves.
