Sultan Al-Athel, passed away today.

The businessman "Al-Athel" is the owner of an inspiring success story, as he was able to face the
disease and was able to achieve successes with a large number of companies under his management,
the most important of which are the "FedEx" and "Dunkin' Donuts" branches.

Al-Athel, who is considered one of the prominent businessmen in Saudi Arabia, after he was able to
confront the disease of amyotrophic muscular sclerosis, with his ambitions, desire and determination
to succeed, was able to continue his career despite the fact that during the 23 years he only had the
senses of hearing and sight to rely on in his life.

Despite all the difficulties he lived through, he managed several companies in various fields, with
more than 10,000 employees

Businessman Sultan Al-Athel learned at the Capital Institute in Riyadh until high school, then
completed his university studies in the United States of America in Portland, Oregon, at Portland
University in the College of Engineering, and obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

His university thesis was on atomic reactors and he got it with distinction, then he got a certificate in
time management, he also joined the "Coffee" Center for Leadership Development, then he got a
certificate in the pivotal variables and principles of leadership in the twenty-first century at the
Franklin Covey Center

The story of his illness in 1997, when the disease lost him the full ability to move and speak except for
the movement of the eyes and lips. Rather, he breathes through a breathing tube connected to a
respirator and feeds through a feeding tube that reaches the stomach with an opening, despite all
these difficultie

However, he was able to overcome his health conditions with persistence and patience, and was able
to practice his family and practical life with excellence

The career of businessman Sultan Al-Athel began before he fell ill, with the establishment of SMSA
FedEx express shipping company in 1994, as his company expanded to provide services to all sectors
until it became one of the most developed and widespread companies, so that it became the widest
delivery network serving more than 200 cities and villages in the Kingdom. In addition to a large fleet
of more than 1,000 cars that roam all over the country around the clock to provide freight services,
and globally, its services reach more than 200 countries around the world.

In 1996, the first launch of the "Dunkin' Donuts" chain of stores took place

Even before his death, Al-Athel was running the SMSA Express Transportation Company Limited
(FedEx), Shahiya Company Limited (Dunkin' Donuts), and the Arab Security and Safety Services
Company Limited (AMNCO), and he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi company
