RAPID MATHEMATICS ASSESSMENT

GRADE 1

ASSESSMENT MATERIALS
BOOKLET
About this Assessment Materials Booklet

This booklet contains materials that can be used in administering the Rapid Mathematics
Assessment for Grade 1. It is prepared to make sure that the necessary materials are available
during the test administration. Most of the tasks included in this assessment require learners
to manipulate objects, pictures, or cutouts. The learners give their answers orally to the
assessment tasks. They do not write on the materials.

For most of the assessment tasks, one set of materials may be sufficient for all learners while
others may need to be reproduced and cut. To be able to use these materials several times, it
is encouraged to paste them on cardboards. This would also allow for easier manipulation.

Before test administration, the test administrator should have prepared all the necessary
materials and have read the accompanying Teacher’s Booklet. It is expected that he/she has
gained familiarity with the materials, in terms of how and for which item to use them.
