There are many types of literature that we tackled in our subject.
One of them is poetry. Poetry is a form of literature which allows writers to
express their thoughts, feelings, emotions, ideas about a particular theme or topic. Most of these poems have a structure they follow. And the part of this is foot. Foot is a unit of meter and can have two to three syllables that are either stressed or unstressed. I read a few poems from time to time. In reading these poems, I noticed that most often than not there is rhythm. The type of foot determines the beat the syllable give. The same is followed throughout the poem. Reading it sounds good and does not seem out of place. After the discussion, I realized something. Foot is about patterns. The patterns are the unstressed and stressed syllables. This gives the piece a sense of rhythm. This gives the poem consistency through the end. During and after the discussion, I learned a lot. I can apply this in writing poems. Knowing how to recognize foot can make my poems have better beat. This can also apply in reading poems. Knowing what the unstressed and stressed beats can make reading poems fun and enjoyable.
