Assignment 32

1. The social media and television affect the early exposure of child
development negatively. Exposure to media at an early age can have a
negative impact on social development due to the loss of time to
communicate and interact with parents and play creatively. Media is
known to negatively affect the development of children even if they are
exposed to media their parents are watching in the background. In
addition to problematic digital behaviors, there may be changes in
children's daily behavior at home like: Increased irritability. Increased
anxiety. Lack of self-esteem. Media use also can expose kids to
cyberbullying, which has been linked to depression and suicide. And
media use can distract kids from important tasks, interfere with
homework time, and hurt school performance. It can limit quality family
time and make kids feel lonely or isolated. Consequently, parents should
limit the screen time of children in order to protect them to the hazard it
poses not only to their health but to their development as well.

2. Interactive media and technology are important to the millennial


students in their learning process because they make learning easier for
them. Interactive multimedia in classrooms means interactive lessons in
which the student is active in their learning. Educational psychologists
have found student-centered learning is often more effective in
encouraging active student-led learning. Interactive Multimedia also
makes bite-size learning possible. Moreover, we all know that we are
employing the 21st century classroom nowadays which is designed to
make learning more effective by using technology. Example of a 21 st
century classroom is one that practices ICT integration. An ICT
integrated lesson makes use of a computer application in which the
students do some activities or take some quizzes. Hence, they need
gadgets like smartphones in order for them to access the said class
activities.
