TESTS

1. Spatial Visualization (Space Visualization)

This test evaluates skills such as mental manipulation of objects in space, the
time used to respond to the test, the tendency to cross the midline and to use
the preferential hand during this activity.

2. Figure Ground Perception (Figure Ground Perception):

Ability to perceive and identify a figure that is in the foreground of a background,
this test does not involve motor skills.

3. Standing and Walking Balance (Standing and Walking Balance):

This test evaluates the ability to maintain static balance with eyes closed and
open as well as dynamic balance with eyes open and closed.

4. Design Copying
This test evaluates the ability to accurately copy what is perceived and also the
ability to organize graphic work in a two-dimensional space. We can identify
atypical elements in the copies made by the children, such as segmentations,
inversions or rotations of the images, among others.

5. Postural Praxis (Postural Praxis)

Measures the ability to use tactile and proprioceptive information to perform
motor planning of how to move the body and limbs to imitate observed
postures.

6. Bilateral Motor Coordination (Bilateral Motor Coordination)
It measures the ability to rely on vestibular and proprioceptive information
processing to program and sequence hand and foot movements in a smooth
and coordinated manner.

7. Praxis on Verbal Command (Praxis on Verbal Command):

This test evaluates the ability to follow verbal instructions and the ability to plan
movements based on these verbal commands. Tactile and proprioceptive
aspects are also involved for the motor planning of body and limb movements
without a visual model.

8. Constructional Praxis (Constructional Praxis)
This test measures the ability to relate one object to another and to perform
motor planning to build in three dimensions. It also allows us to see the
appearance of atypical features in the construction, such as blocks omitted or
placed in incorrect positions.

It provides information about the processing of vestibular inputs at the central
nervous system level.

10. Motor Accurancy

Measures visual-motor coordination and the ability to cross the midline. This is
seen in grapho-writing activities and outdoor play activities.

11. Sequencing Praxis (Sequencing Praxis)

This test evaluates the child's ability to rely on tactile and proprioceptive
information to accurately plan arm and hand movements in space. We also
obtain information about the child's ability to coordinate both sides of the body
and his or her visual, auditory and kinesthetic memory.

12. Oral Praxis (Oral Praxis)

SENSORY INTEGRATION AND OCCUPATIONA

PRAXIS TEST (SIP) L THERAPY

This part assesses the child's ability to rely on tactile and proprioceptive
information to accurately plan how to move the tongue, teeth, lips, cheeks and
jaw.

13. Manual Form Perception (Manual Form Perception)

Evaluates the ability to combine kinesthetic and tactile information, which
contribute to the perception of sterognosia. It also measures the ability to
coordinate this information (tactile and proprioceptive) coming from both sides
of the body.

14. Kinesthesia (Kinesthesia)
This test measures the child's ability to use tactile and proprioceptive
information to accurately plan arm and hand movements in space. It also
assesses the ability to make the necessary postural adjustments to freely move
the limbs dissociated from the trunk.

15. Finger Identification

This section assesses the child's ability to use tactile and proprioceptive
information to identify fingers that are touched by the evaluator.

16. Graphesthesia (Graphesthesia)

Here the child's ability to use tactile and proprioceptive information to
discriminate accurately how the hands have been touched by the evaluator is
assessed. It also measures the spatial and temporal analysis of a stimulus,
received passively, to support the creation of a visual image in the child's head
of what was perceived through touch.

17. Localization of Tactile Stimuli (Localization of Tactile Stimuli):
Assesses the child's ability to use tactile information to discriminate where the
child's arms and hands have been touched. It should also be noted that this test
provides information about the child's response to superficial tactile stimuli
delivered by another person.

Olga;
With the above description I want to show you an overview of what aspects this
test evaluates and we can also see that it is an instrument that allows us to
obtain a fairly comprehensive look at the child's sensory processing. Despite
the information that can be obtained with this evaluation, it is advisable to
complement it with other evaluation instruments, such as clinical observations,
sensory histories, among others.

One aspect that is important to highlight is that it is an evaluation that involves a

high economic cost for the battery and that the therapists who apply it are
trained and must be able to apply it as indicated in the manual and to be able to
analyze the data with the necessary depth. I apply some items, but as you
know, more than 30 years of experience and knowledge have allowed me to
adapt it to my tests with good results. I suggest doing it with a lot of
professionalism so that little by little you can manage it properly.

As a challenge for the future, we should consider the possibility of having

instruments of this quality that will allow us to have quantitative data that we can
complement with our clinical observations. It is likely that future versions of the
SIPT will be standardized with Latin American populations and translated into
Spanish, and it is here that we must take the initiative to train ourselves and
begin to use this type of instrument.
