PROPOSE YOUR TOPIC

1. What is the topic for your training? Describe it in a few sentences.

The topic of my module would be a computer class. It would range from helping others how
to turn on/off a computer, open an email account, and typing. Additionally, I would like to
add other useful skills such as the Google and Microsoft Suite apps. Taking into account the
various topics I want to include, I think I would a module for each topic with a mini lesson
and a step by step project the learner can follow to create an end product. Lastly, I would
like to make my training bilingual to be accessible to various audiences.

2. Briefly, in a sentence or two, describe the intended audience for your learning
solution (training, module, etc.).

The intended audience for my learning module would be any adults. I usually see that
computer classes are mostly targeted towards older adults, but I would like to include all
adults because computer literacy is important for all.

3. Write a sentence or two about the organization where you expect to deliver this
training (for example, Franklin School, XYZ Corporation, a charitable organization,
etc.).

After a bit of research, I would be delivering my training to the Salinas Public Library
community. They already have computer classes ranging from beginner to adanced.

4. In a few sentences, explain what motivates you about this topic and/or audience.
Why are you excited about the idea of designing this training?

My motivation for this project arises from seeing my parents and other family members
struggle with technology. Growing up in a generation heavily focused on technology, I was
reliant on my teachers helping me with computers. At home, my parents did not know how
to use a touch screen phone. Now, they have come a longsway but are still stuck. I beove
the reason of their lack of computer literacy was the need to always work and not having
time to learn. Adding on, this is a reality with many other adults and its the motivation for
my training. Having accessible modules, adults can learn from their home and at their own
pace rather than going to a class.
