All knitted instructions are written for knitting flat.
Change “Row X and all even rows: purl” for
“Row X and all even rows: Knit” if you kniting in
rounds.
The pattern is stocking stitch throughout.
BASIC DESCRIPTION
Trunk
Cast on 45 sts with brown yarn and work 17 rows st st.
Cast off.
Bases-pedestals (make 3: 2 in brown and 1 green)
Finished it should be slightly smaller than the size of a
CD.
Note: you can also knit base from the center to the
edge if you like. Look for instructions at the end of
the pattern.
Cast on (loosely) 81 sts with needed color yarn.
Row 1-4: st st
Row 5: (K7, 1 dec) x 9 times = 72 sts
Row 6 and all even rows: purl (if you knit flat) or K (if
you knit in the round)
Row 7: (K6, 1 dec) x 9 times = 63 sts
Row 9: (K5, 1 dec) x 9 times = 54 sts
Row 11: (K4, 1 dec) x 9 times = 45 sts
Row 13: (K3, 1 dec) x 9 times = 36 sts
Row 15: (K2, 1 dec) x 9 times = 27 sts

SPRUCE CHRISTMAS TREE
Make all parts according to basic description. Additionally
crochet ‘branches’.
Branches (crochet instruction)
Check gauge first! See page 2.
Make 360 cm (141 inches) long chain of ch stitches
(most people found their crocheted chain count to range
from 700 - 1250 stitches depending upon gauge and
tension).
TIP – put marker every 100 ch so you won’t need to
start counting from the beginning if you don’t know
how many ch have you already done.
Starting from 3rd st from the hook (3 dc, 2 tr, 3 dc – in 1
st, skip 2 sts, 1 sl st, skip 2 sts) – repeat until the end of
the chain. Break yarn and fasten off.
Finished crocheted ribbon of branches should be
approximately 310 cm (122 inches) long.

Assembly Secure green knitting circle to the CD disk using PVA

glue. Sometimes, instead of glue, I use nail to secure

I used thin (1 cm (0.4 inches)) piece of foam rubber.

Cut it in long stripes 5-6 cm (2 - 2.4 inches) width.
There should be 200 cm (79 inches) of stripes in
total. Roll up stripes stretching them a little bit so the
foam rubber trunk becomes approx. 4 - 4.5 cm (1.57
– 1.77 inches) high.

Make sure that the foam rubber is rolled up tight enough

so the tree will be able to stand straight. The tree may fall
over if the trunk is too soft. Diameter of the stuffed
trunk should be approximately 7 - 8 cm (2.75 – 3.15
inches). Fill the cone with holofiber and sew it to the round base
with trunk having inserted CD to keep the form.

Sew trunk to brown pedestal at one side and to green

base of the Christmas tree at the other side.

Note: you can put something heavy (flat pebble for

example) between trunk and brown pedestal to add
weight to the base of the tree or you can later
inserted a long, narrow wooden dowel through the
bottom of the bases through the trunk and up Sew bottom part of the round pedestal to the top part
through the center of the tree CD into the tree to having strengthened it with 2 CDs glued together.

Break yarn, leaving a long end. Thread through sts on

needle, draw up tightly and fasten off.

Assembly
Repeat assembly as for ‘Spruce Christmas Tree’ till ***

Thread through sts around the perimeter of the nose on

needle, stuff it, draw up tightly and fasten off. Sew the
nose.

Put on the cap on the tree, glue eyes and embroider

mouth.

Little Christmas Tree is ready to cheer you up and

make you happy!!!
