You will hear some conversations between two

people. You will be asked to answer three questions about what the speakers say in
each conversation. Select the best response to each question and mark the
letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet. The conversations will be spoken only
one time and will not be printed in your testbook. Questions 41 through 43 refer
to the following conversation. When is the company's annual report being sent out?
As soon as production gets the final figures from our overseas sales department,
they can finish it off. Will that take long? I'm hoping to be able to take a look
at it soon. My friend Bert works in overseas sales and he says they'll be
done by tomorrow afternoon. How often does this report come out?

closed up to do inventory. I'm completely worn out from the sale yesterday. I know.
I tried to keep the display racks in order but it was just no use. I actually
bought a few things for myself while I was on my break. A sweater and some
shirts. I grabbed a couple pairs of jeans. Those prices were just too good to pass

out on the entire block. That's strange. Everything was fine when I went to sleep.
There was a storm last night. That's what must have caused it. Service should be
restored by lunchtime though so I won't miss the big game later. And I really
need to use the computer this afternoon so that's a relief. Number 53. What is
the problem?

Number 55. When do they expect to recover the problem?
Questions 56 through 58 refer to the following conversation. We charge $25
a day for a four passenger car and $35 a day for an eight passenger van. There
are seven of us so we'll need the van and that'll be for four days. Okay all our
vehicles come with AM FM radio. Would you prefer one with a tape deck as well?
No that won't be necessary. I didn't bring any tapes with me. Number 56. What is
the
woman doing? Number 57. How many people can sit in a van?

depends on who speaking. Do you know what's on the program? The CEO of a wind power
company is giving a speech on new sources of energy. That sounds interesting. I
might stop by if I can get my reports finished by then. Number 59. Where do

following conversation. Hey there. What have you got in that box? I've just been
to the stereo shop. I finally bought that brand new set of speakers I've been
talking about. Really? You bought a new stereo. What kind is it? How much was it?
No, no. I just bought some speakers. My old system works fine. Besides some of
the new models they've got break too easily. Number 62. What did the woman buy?

Questions 65 through 67 refer to the following conversation. I have some bad
news. You know those parts you needed for your prototype? Well I'm quite sure
they'll be coming in late. We didn't expect the price to be so high so we
looked around to see if we could get a better price. We got a better quote at
a parts factory in Mexico but of course it will take more time to ship. Well I
don't know those parts are very crucial but I understand the price factor. My
work is pretty much halted until those parts come in. I might have to ask for
an extension on my project. Is there any way I can get the parts from a closer
factory? Of course it's possible but it's just the price. If you really need the
parts I can ask the accounting department to crunch a few numbers and see if we
can shift some expenses from different departments or try to allocate some
funds from other projects. That would be great. If you can get me those parts by
tomorrow then I'll definitely have my work finished before the end of the week
and perhaps even get started on the Johnson project. Number 65. Why can't the
parts get in on time?

to see one piece of photo identification and have you sign your name in the log
