-Identify different levels of management and non–management role at any organization
and define their tasks and responsibilities.
Many processes are carried out in the organization in which different tasks are performed by a
huge base of employees. Managers are required to manage these processes and the large
workforce employed. These managers are employed in three different levels- lower level, middle
level, and top-level management.

Lower level management includes supervisors who control the work of laborers and employees
and direct them to perform better. Their main task and responsibility are controlling and
directing employees. This includes-
 Assigning duties to workers
 Providing day-to-day guidance and supervision to staff
 Ensuring the quality and quantity of production
 Making recommendations and suggestions
 Taking employee problems to higher management
Middle-level managers have a wider span of control than lower-level managers. They are
accountable to the top management for their department’s function. Their main task and
responsibility are executing the organizational plans and policies in the organization. This
includes-
 Executing organizational strategies in alliance with corporate policies and senior
management's objectives.
 Building a bridge between top level management and lower level management.
 Inspiring and guiding low-level managers to improve their performance.

They are above lower-level managers and instruct them for the work and act as an intermediary
between top-level management and low-level managers.

Top-level managers are the highest level of management with the widest span of control. They
are mainly responsible for forming policies and overseeing the entire organization. The top-level
management forms policies, plans, to instruct and guide the middle-level managers in
implementing the plans. So, they perform the planning and organizing function. In addition, top-
level managers play a significant role in the mobilization of outside resources. Their task and
responsibility includes-

 Determine organizational objectives which relate to profit, survival, business growth,

widening sales operations and maintaining good relations with employees, customers and
public.
 Setting market policies like advertising and sales techniques, product pricing, training,
promotions, and appraisal of performance and channel of distribution.
 Procurement of sources of finance, funds and management of profits.
 Control over middle and lower level management, regarding operations, through budget,
quality control
Top-level managers are the ones who are accountable to the shareholders and general public.
Non-managerial positions in the organization are people essential to the implementation of plans
and proper business processes. Their role is not to develop any plan or policy, they also do not
have much responsibility and almost no to very little authority. They are just crucial to the
organizations’ management and operational continuance and help in achieving functional
excellence. Their main role is to perform as their job states and their manager expects. Examples
of such roles are- accountants, HR coordinators, etc.

-During this COVID-19, what strategies may adopt as a manager to keep the customer and
employee satisfied?
The garment manager would need to do a lot of hard work and have to take significant actions to
form strategies that can reduce the bad impact of Covid-19 and keep employees satisfied. To do
so, the manager can-

 Ensure sick employees stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus to others.
 Ensure that the workspace is clean and hygienic and employee safety is assured in
all ways in the workplace so that they can be fearless and safe from the virus.
 Promotion, training, and development opportunities to all employees while also
offering bonuses and considerable pay to employees.
 Reduce costs in other ways but not reduce employment or layoffs so that
employees are not demotivated while the business also saves costs.

In the tough times an organization needs the full support of their customers to survive in the
market. Keeping the customers loyal and satisfied is crucial to reduce the bad impact of Covid-
19. To do so a manger needs to-

 Analyze and meet demand- he needs to meet customer demands of the garments
industry by producing according to the market demand so that no shortage
problems are created.
 Produce trendy designs- the garments manager can follow influencers on social
media platforms and other things to be updated about the current trends in clothes
so that trendy clothes are offered to the customers.
 Quality check- Quality is the most important element to attract and retain
customers. The manager can deploy more personnel and steps in the business
process to ensure the good quality of the products.
 Marketing- The manager can strategize marketing by using social media
platforms and influencer marketing to engage a larger audience.
He can offer sales discounts and arrange various engaging campaigns involving
