How do you communicate your state of mental wellness to others?


Mental wellness is an important aspect that impacts not only one's own life but also

the lives of those around us. These health concerns could manifest in a variety of ways

therefore it is crucial that we understand and recognize the ways how we should deal with

them. Through communicating this state, which can be a sensitive topic, we need to

comprehend that it's essential in order for us to receive the help and support that we need.

One effective way that I’ve tried in communicating my state of mental wellness to

others is through writing journals. Before doing so, I first identify individuals whom I could trust

and feel comfortable discussing this topic with. I’ve approached these conversations with a

clear understanding of my own mental state and current needs. Putting these thoughts into

written words helped me organize and clarify my feelings before sharing them with others. It

also allows me to reflect on the progress I’ve made in managing my mental health, which gives

me the confidence to share my experiences with others. By journaling my mental wellness, I’ve

become more comfortable discussing it with others and in turn, help reduce the stigma

surrounding mental illness.
