Mental Health Awareness

According to World Health Organization, Mental health is a state of mental well-being

that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and
work well, and contribute to their community. In a world that often prioritizes physical well-
being, it is crucial to recognize and address the significance of mental health. In the tapestry
of our existence, mental health is a thread that weaves through every emotion, thought, and
experience. It shapes our resilience, influences our relationships, and molds the very core of
who we are. Yet, stigma and misconceptions persist, creating barriers to open dialogue and
support. Today, let us unravel the layers of mental health, dispel myths, and cultivate a
compassionate community that values the well-being of every individual. Let's stand together
to break the stigma, and we, the new generation, can create a world where mental health is
a priority and compassion knows no bounds. Mental health is crucial and integrates a
component of health. Mental health includes an individual’s psychological, emotional and
social well-being. Proper mental health results in the proper mental functioning that result in
being productive in activities, healthy and fulfilling relationships with other people and having
the ability to cope and adapt to adversity.

Mental health is just as important as physical health and it's crucial to prioritize and take
care of our mental well-being Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act, and it
impacts our overall quality of life. It's important to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and
ensure that everyone has access to the support and resources they need for their mental
health. Because mental and physical health are integral to our inner selves, they are equally
crucial. I can use the experiences I had growing up—which had a significant impact on both
my physical and mental health—to encourage and uplift others and to serve as a constant
reminder that self-love is essential to productivity. During the seminar, I came to realized that
we are all part of a shared human experience, where every individual's mental health is a
valuable piece of the collective puzzle. mental illness is very prone especially anxiety and
depression. Mental health problems don't define who you are. They are something you
experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain. Mental health
includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being that affects how we think feel
and act. The silent killer that takes lives without warning, punishment, or any sympathy;
depression is truly one of the most prominent mental illnesses in the world. Depression is
defined as a mental illness inducing a severe and staunch feeling of sadness. The term
depression must only be used when a person is clinical diagnosed by a professional.
Depressed people may also have difficulty thinking, poor concentration, and problems with
memory. The feelings of worthlessness, helplessness, guilt, and self-blame are those among
the most commonly recorded. This leads to the major influence of depression on the world,
suicidal thoughts and actions. The seminar also tackled about self care. Self-care, as the
name suggests, is all about caring for yourself to ensure that both your physical and
emotional needs are met. Self-care can play a role in maintaining your mental health and
help support your treatment and recovery if you have a mental illness. I believe self care is
one of the most important tools to maintain mental wellbeing, so I always allow myself ‘me
time’. I like to read, work out, and be in nature. Everyday, I do exercise. I can be the best
version of myself, manage stress, stay grounded and enjoy this interests. Self-love involves
setting healthy boundaries, saying no when necessary, and prioritizing one's own needs and
well-being without guilt.

Nowadays, we see mental health more through the prism of illness, and we wait until
someone is experiencing problems—that is, when they are depressed, anxious, or thinking
about taking their own life—before we address mental health. As an alternative, we ought to

reorient our priorities, approach mental health from a holistic perspective, integrate it into our
primary healthcare, and normalize discussions about it, particularly with young people, to
help them understand that it's okay to not be okay. Let's create a safe space where
everyone feels valued, heard, and understood. Each of us has our own invisible battles. Let
this be a powerful reminder that we are capable of bringing light to someone in their darkest
time. Remember that your mental health is a priority. your inner peace is essential and your
self-care is a necessity. This is not merely a call to action, it is an invitation to be an envoy of
change. Embrace your voice as a force for good, a force that can shatter the shackles of
stigma. In doing this, we contribute to a future where mental health is not whispered in silent
tones but spoken of openly and compassionately. Let our voices be the catalysts for a world
where the symphony of acceptance and understanding drowns out the dissonance of
stigma, creating a melody of unity and resilience. We choose to have an advocacy video
about this matter to help our fellow students who might feeling this way, that mental illness is
something they shouldn't be ashamed of, to make them feel that there are also people that
also have it, and to enlighten them to be positive and to let them know that there are people
who support and love them. I hope as time passes, accountability to one another should not
be a big thing. It should be one of grasping essence among the youth. Let's live in a world
where inclusivity is present, as it fosters understanding and other complexes towards a
much more successful generation.
