Some people believe that certain old buildings should be preserved more

than others. What types of old buildings should be preserved? Do you

think the advantages of preserving old buildings outweigh the
disadvantages?

Most nations around the world have the own culture of architecture
like Castle, Temples, old houses and given that mankind will face
population explosion and land crisis so some arguing that old building
should be preserved better more than others. In my opinion, i belive
historical and cultural buildings or there specific kinds of traditional
buildings deserve to be preserved to save values for the locality in
particular and the country in general. I would agree that the benefits of
conserving these structures can make drawbacks of this tendency are
overshadowed by its benefits, but there is no denying that conservation
still has disadvantages.
Firstly, maintaining the architecture is like maintaining the culture and
history of the people that lived here over and over decade and can
make people are able to have an in-depth insight into their local history
or we should call “connecting to the past”. there are many buildings
that are not just old buildings but they contain stories and chronicles
that may be hundreds to thousands of years ago, Example: Hue
Imperial City (The Citadel) showing great historical value when deciding
to move the capital from Thang Long to Hue and also the place where
Vietnam's feudal dynasty ended when King Bao Dai abdicated.
Some types of structures that should be maintained such as historical
museums, religious temples, Castle, Old houses, churches… that with
significant cultural or historical value. These structures include the
uniqe architecture that show us the culture and human intelligence.
Example: Rome city include a lot of unique styles of roman people and
can show how the greate of roman empire, where the city on of the
first reach 1 million peoples that live there. A prevalent and publicly
recognized phenomenon that a place that have the culture buildings
that can attract a lot of the tourists such as Paris, Rome and Hanoi and
base on that on a more practical level, many of these buildings provide
important income to a country as many tourists visit them in great
numbers.
Preserved can bring a lot of benefits but also has its drawbacks but not
significant because they can be solved in many different ways. The
world population nowadays is 8 billion people, with the rise of the
population so can lead to more houses being built so Preserved can
have the effect of consuming land resources and the funding is also
high because many buildings is too old really hard to find the materials
to conserve them.
In conclusion, I believe that it is very important to protect and preserve old
buildings so from that we can keep the history and culture for the next
generation. But Preserved also has its drawbacks so the country need to
evaluated.
