a) Compute the mean score for each group and use this information to justify the need to
compute a measure of variability for each data set.
b) Choose an appropriate measure of variability that will help you come up with a good
comparison of the two data sets. Justify your choice of the measure.
c) Make a separate dot plot for each set of data. On the basis of the dot plots, argue why
the range would be inappropriate as a measure of variability.
(You may use MS Excel or other applications to construct dot plot OR draw it manually).
