and its members have formed human networks inside and outside the community to work towards commonly agreed
goals and visions.

A healthy community does not exist solely based on the quality of its healthcare system, but rather based on a range
of social and economic resources needed for the health and well-being of its residents in all aspects of their lives and
can be defined:
 Health is defined as physical, mental, and social well-being, and
not merely the absence of disease.
 Health is strongly impacted by social and economic conditions
that characterize poor communities and communities of color.
 Approaches to health that focus on changing conditions and
environments where people live, learn, work, pray, and play are
likely to have the greatest impact.
 Interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to research,
teaching, and service are necessary to address the complex
health challenges experienced by communities.
 Health is directly tied to quality of life and is a resource for living
and working.
 Working in authentic partnership with communities is not only
essential to health promotion, but is also a critical element of
effective and sustainable University-community relationships.

Advantages:
There can be mentioned 5 Benefits of Joining a Strong Community:
• Sense of Belonging: One of the greatest benefits of joining a strong community is the accompanying sense of
belonging. ...
• Diversity: Another benefit of joining a strong community is the opportunity to experience diversity.
• Accountability.
• Fun.
• Support.

Disadvantages:
Can be the low incomes and high levels of unemployment, as important as these indicators are. The term "community
disadvantage" is used to denote the complex factors that make it difficult for people living in certain areas to achieve
positive life outcomes.
Community disadvantage emerges out of the interplay between the characteristics of the residents in a community
(employment, education levels) and the effects of the social and environmental context in which they exist such as
weak social networks, poor role models and a relative lack of opportunity.
