favourite sports team has been involved in a sports scandal connected to sports
betting. Your editor has asked you to write a feature article about the event and
the issue of sports betting.

3. Learning English through Workplace Communication

You read a news article about the laws and regulations regarding sickness
allowance around the world. You notice that different countries have different
policies regarding paid sick leave, and you think more places should provide
sickness allowance to their employees.

leave policies and why that is beneficial to the society.

In a recent epidemic, many public health experts have promoted non-

pharmacological intervention techniques such as social distancing to help
prevent the disease from spreading in the community. However, many people
have complained that doing so would be devastating to their livelihood.

is difficult for some people to adopt it and how you think those difficulties

media should be banned for all of our sakes!’

Your local library is holding a fan-fiction competition. You have decided to take part
in it by writing a short story based on the characters in your favourite novel.
