Tourism Destinations of Borobudur-Yogyakarta-
Prambanan. With this book, we hope to be able to
contribute ideas to relevant stakeholders both in
the Ministry of PUPR, as well as related Ministries/
Institutions, as well as Regional Governments,
so that later they can be used as a reference for
developing sectoral programs to support the
development of competitive and sustainable
tourism.

Foreword

With the preparation process that has involved all


relevant stakeholders, the Borobudur-Yogyakarta-
Prambanan area shall make a major contribution
to the economic recovery and development. The
Borobudur Temple Complex is one of the UNESCO’s
World Heritage Sites, consisting of the main building
of the Borobudur Temple, and two small temples
nearby (Mendut Temple and Pawon Temple). In
2018, the number of visitors reached almost 4
million, foreign tourists accounted for around 6% to
8% of the total visitor arrivals at Borobudur Temple.

Various agencies are involved in the management

Zone 1 and Zone 2 Segments
