My favorite technological advancement in the automotive industry is Vehicle-to-

vehicle communication. It has been applied in the automotive industry and it was
first published in 2010 by IEEE. It is a system which allows wireless exchange of
information such as their speed, location and direction among vehicles. The
technology can then send warnings to drivers to take action to avoid crashes. These
V2V communication messages have a range of over 300 meters and can detect
dangers obscured by traffic, terrain or weather. In terms of advantages of V2V
communication system, it extends and enhances currently available crash
avoidance systems that use radars and cameras to detect collision threats addition,
vehicle information communicated does not identify or track the driver or vehicle,
which ensures information security. However, this system also has some
drawbacks. As vehicles are connected on a wireless platform, they are easy to be
hacked. I really like this technological advancement because it can avoid the crash
and help driver makes better decision while driving.
