POSITION SUMMARY
ICAP in Angola is working in coordination with the Angolan Ministry of Health to support the
implementation of family-focused services in the area of HIV Care and Treatment and
collaborative HIV activities.
The position of Care and Treatment Assistant to the Provincial Care and Treatment Officer.
Responsibilities:
He will dedicate his entire working time at the health facilities, carrying out comprehensive
activities including, but not limited to, ensuring providers are aware of and applying national HIV
testing guidelines, initiation of ART for PLHIV, comprehensive and ethical clinical care allowing
access to viral load testing, comprehensive knowledge of the benefits of ART and minimize ART
interruptions; integrated HIV care and women's and child health (ANC) ensuring that all pregnant
women know their HIV status, those living with HIV receive and continue ART, babies receive
drugs to prevent HIV infection and have access to HIV screening test (early infant diagnosis),
breastfeeding women living with HIV receive continuum and comprehensive care including for
family planning; PLHIV partners and children learn their HIV status through awareness raising and
ongoing guidance by MINSA clinical service providers. It will also support MINSA officials to
implement Continuous Quality Improvement cycles.
