Narrator

Once upon a time, there was a family who was obsessed with having the latest fashion. One day

the Emperor felt sick. So the doctors came and diagnosed him with a fake disease that he never

really had.

People 1 and 2

Singing: “You are sick! You are sick! Undeniably, you’re sick!”

Narrator

Luckily there was a new shipment of clothes.

Emperor

This is it. Goodbye world (acting sick and dying)

Person 1

A new shipment of clothes came in

Emperor

Yippee! (no longer sick)

Narrator

After looking through and modeling the clothes, the royal family went out into town to fulfill

their public duty.

Daughter 1

The townspeople are yucky!

Daughter 2

I wanna go to Paris!
 Narrator

In town, they meet two con men, Wart and Hog. They are able to dazzle everyone with their

various tricks.

People 1 and 2

Singing: “Everybody”

Narrator

Wart and Hog are able to convince the town that there is a magic cloth that can only be seen by

those who are worthy

Emperor

It’s - uh- you know - It’s the most beautiful cloth I’ve ever seen

Narrator

The Emperor then commissioned the con men to make him an outfit from the magic cloth for his

birthday celebration. When the day came the Emperor was very eager to wear his new clothes.

Wort/Hog

Finished!

Emperor

Yippee!/I wanna see! I wanna see!/Goody! Goody!

Narrator

He then proceeded to strut around the town in his underpants

People 1 and 2

Singing: The man in the underpants

Narrator
The embarrassed Emperor came home. He confronted Wart and Hog, then had them handed over

to his daughters who they also managed to con with the magic cloth.

Wart/Hog

Sire, I’d much prefer the dungeon

Narrator

After that people were promoted due to their loyalty to the welfare of the royal family and

everyone lived happily ever after.
