Sir/Madam:

I am writing to request a reduced penalty for my water consumption for the

month of August. I understand that I have exceeded the usual limit our
household consumes based on your reading, and I am truly bothered with this.

There is a reason for my increased water usage this month. I had a leak in our
water pipe that went unnoticed for several weeks. I have since repaired the
leak, and I am taking steps to reduce my water usage in the future.

I am a responsible customer, and I have always paid my water bill on time and
in full. I am also committed to conserving water. I have taken the following
steps to reduce my water usage:

 Installed water-saving showerheads and faucets

 Fixed any leaks in my plumbing
 Water my lawn less often

I understand that water is a precious resource, and I am committed to using it

wisely. I am asking for your understanding and compassion in this matter. I
would be grateful if you would consider reducing my penalty.
