OPERATIONS
MAINTENANCE
Apply corrective actions for automatic and manual shut-downs during emergencies.
Assist in developing production processes and in equipment installations.
Assist in equipment set-up and commissioning for processes.
Assist in improvement projects.
Assist to resolve facility maintenance issues.
Control the exposure of equipment contact parts, lubricants and other machinery
components to ensure food safety.
Develop work instructions and control plans for manufacturing processes.
Diagnose issues on food production equipment and address them.
Ensure the security of food manufacturing processes with built-in and fool-proof
mechanisms.
Follow cleanliness and safety standards while setting up equipment and
maintenance procedures.
Follow cleanliness standards, safety regulations and organisation requirements
during production cycles.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement projects relating to maintenance
processes.
Monitor and maintain processes and equipment performance.
Schedule repair and maintenance to reduce downtime during production.
Troubleshoot process issues to maintain optimum facility performance.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be
performed.
Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
PLANNING
Understand the job well enough to describe what needs to be accomplished,
estimate Labor hours, tools, and resources needed to complete different work
orders.
Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in sync with the
organization’s maintenance goals.
Constantly adjust schedules to account for unexpected emergency work.
Act as the primary liaison person between maintenance and operations.
Lead communication between maintenance and other internal beneficiaries of
maintenance work to ensure that everyone receives timely, efficient, and quality
service.
Coordinate planned downtimes to reduce mean time between failures and
minimize interference with production schedules.
Minimize the number of interruptions once work begins.
Establish job goals for the maintenance workforce.
Provide immediate insights into potential labor shortages (or excesses).
Help with keeping an optimal stock of spare parts and materials.
Sometimes, they will need to prepare and ensure compliance with preventive
maintenance checklists and other standardized procedures (if the organization is
missing a maintenance supervisor).
COST ENGINEER
SAFETY ENGINEER
Maintain and apply knowledge of current health and safety policies, regulations,
and industrial processes.
Review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to make sure
that they meet safety requirements.
Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and
safety equipment.
Evaluate the effectiveness of various industrial control mechanisms.
Ensure that buildings or products comply with health and safety regulations,
especially after an inspection that required changes.
Install safety devices on machinery or direct the installation of these devices
Review employee safety programs and recommend improvements.
