MAINTENANCE
 Apply corrective actions for automatic and manual shut-downs during emergencies.
 Assist in developing production processes and in equipment installations.
 Assist in equipment set-up and commissioning for processes.

 Assist to resolve facility maintenance issues.
 Control the exposure of equipment contact parts, lubricants and other machinery
components to ensure food safety.
 Develop work instructions and control plans for manufacturing processes.
 Diagnose issues on food production equipment and address them.
 Ensure the security of food manufacturing processes with built-in and fool-proof
mechanisms.
 Follow cleanliness and safety standards while setting up equipment and
maintenance procedures.
 Follow cleanliness standards, safety regulations and organisation requirements
during production cycles.
 Identify opportunities for continuous improvement projects relating to maintenance
processes.
 Monitor and maintain processes and equipment performance.
 Schedule repair and maintenance to reduce downtime during production.

PLANNING
 Understand the job well enough to describe what needs to be accomplished,
estimate Labor hours, tools, and resources needed to complete different work
orders.
 Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in sync with the
organization’s maintenance goals.
 Constantly adjust schedules to account for unexpected emergency work.
 Act as the primary liaison person between maintenance and operations.
 Lead communication between maintenance and other internal beneficiaries of
maintenance work to ensure that everyone receives timely, efficient, and quality
service.
 Coordinate planned downtimes to reduce mean time between failures and
minimize interference with production schedules.
 Minimize the number of interruptions once work begins.
 Establish job goals for the maintenance workforce.
 Provide immediate insights into potential labor shortages (or excesses).
 Help with keeping an optimal stock of spare parts and materials.
 Sometimes, they will need to prepare and ensure compliance with preventive
maintenance checklists and other standardized procedures (if the organization is
missing a maintenance supervisor).

COST ENGINEER

 Assists with feasibility studies.


 Studies engineer and maintenance plans.
 Establishes a broad budget after understanding and identifying costs.
 Understanding and knowledge of Plan costs will aid the team in maintaining
focus.
 Retains regular communication to keep you informed during the process.
 Providing assistance through reviews and evaluations of timetables for projects.
 Resolves scope creep and any other project slow-downs.
 Looking for opportunities for improvement after the project is finished.

SAFETY ENGINEER

 Maintain and apply knowledge of current health and safety policies, regulations,
and industrial processes.
 Review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to make sure
that they meet safety requirements.
 Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and
safety equipment.
 Evaluate the effectiveness of various industrial control mechanisms.
 Ensure that buildings or products comply with health and safety regulations,
especially after an inspection that required changes.
 Install safety devices on machinery or direct the installation of these devices
 Review employee safety programs and recommend improvements.
