The 23-year-old Yulo clinched a return trip to the Games after placing as the highest-ranked
eligible athlete in the floor exercise.

He finished third in the qualifications with a score of 14.600 and was the only gymnast in the
final who didn't yet have a pathway to Paris via the team or all-around qualifications.

Unlike in the apparatus finals where the top gymnast will earn an Olympic berth, tickets to Paris
are staked in the qualifications of the team event and all-around.

Other floor exercise finalists except for Yulo have already qualified to Paris through the said two
pathways.
The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) also announced Yulo’s qualification to Paris, where
he will world No. 2 pole vaulter EJ Obiena.

Yulo’s qualification came after a scary start at the world championships where he finished 91 st in
the all-around with a score of 67.765, no thanks to his performance in vault where he landed on
his back and netted him a zero score.

He also fell on his back during his dismount in still rings to score 11.566 for 132nd place.
This will be the second time that Yulo is competing in the Olympics after seeing action in the
Tokyo edition where he came close to the podium with a fourth-place finish in vault.
