Soaring with abundant flexibility, agility, and strength, six-time world medalist Carlos Yulo of the Philippines, grabbed two more medals in the final day of the 2023 SEA Games Men’s Artistic Gymnastics with a gold in the parallel bars and silver on rings, National Stadium of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, May 9, 2023. The Filipino phenom completed a maximum four out of four medals run throughout the two-day event, struck gold in the individual all-around competition and finished with a silver medal in the team event for day one. Cartwheeling to day two, Yulo once again shined bright by earning a gold medal in the parallel bars event and a silver medal on rings, behind Vietnam’s Van Khanh. Following the successful run, Yulo secured the title of best individual all-around gymnast in Southeast Asia for the third consecutive time. Despite not being used to be competing with a team, Carlos enjoyed the event, encouraged, offered advice, and supported his teammates all throughout the competition. “The team competition is really making me hyped and the atmosphere as well, I really loved it.” said Yulo when asked about his thoughts after the competition.
