Evaporation

is a process of separating mixtures which involves heating the solution until

the solvents evaporates leaving behind the solid residue.

Winnowing

- is another ways of separating mixtures

- It is the process freeing (grains) from the lighter particles of chaff, dirt, etc.,

especially by throwing it into the air and allowing the wind or forced current of air

to blow away impurities.

Filtering

– solid and liquid components can be separated with the use of filter paper or

filter cloth as a medium in which liquid passes through a filter paper leaving

insoluble solid material in the medium.

Decantation

– is an easier process compared to distillation it is a technique used in separating

a less-dense substance from a denser one. It involves letting the mixture settle for

a while. The heavier, insoluble, substances will settle at the bottom of the liquid.
Sieving

– sieving is a method in which two or more components of different sizes are

separated from a mixture on the basis of the different in their sizes uses a sieve.
Using Magnet

is the force exerted by magnets when they attract or repel each other.

Magnetism is caused by the motion of electric charges. Every substance is

made up of tiny units called atoms.
