The microteach lesson introduced classmates to the blogging platform Blogger and provided a demonstration on how to use it. To check understanding, the presenters created a short quiz for classmates to complete. This was followed by a group discussion about other classroom uses for Blogger. Feedback was gathered through a post-lesson survey. The presenters chose Blogger because they had successfully used it in past online art classes. In reflection, they felt the lesson went well but could have provided a more in-depth demonstration of creating a Blogger account. When using Blogger in the classroom, teachers should outline expectations, appropriate content, and the purpose of using the platform.

Rachel and Crysta Our lesson walked students (classmates) through what blogger is and some ways you could use blogger in your classroom. Following some information on what blogger is, we provided a brief demonstration on how to use and navigate the platform. To ensure our classmates were following along and understanding the content we were providing them, we created a small quiz for them to complete. Once everyone completed the mini quiz we went into a group discussion with the promoted question being “What are some other ways Blogger can be used in the classroom?”. Lastly we provided the group with a survey for some feedback. We decided to select this technology because we have both used it in the past with a few of our online art classes during covid time. We both felt using Blogger was an awesome way to see others work along with the ability to share our own. I felt like our lesson delivery went well and everything went as planned, we had no technical difficulties. The only thing I would have changed is to maybe have a more indepth demonstration on how to use blogger. Providing them with a walkthrough on how to create an account may have been useful. A similar tool to blogger is Weebly but with blogger you are able to have individual blogs all under one overarching blog. So your whole class can be on a private domain where they are the only ones that can see their blogs. If you were to use this in your classroom you would have to provide a step by step process on how to create your blogger account and how you would like them to have their display setting put at. When using Blogger in your classroom it is important to provide some expectations you have of your students when using this technology. You should outline what is appropriate and inappropriate to post on your blog. Another important aspect to share with your class is why you are using this technology. Is it to share and explore others' work? Create a space to visually see what assignments you have or haven’t handed in? Sharing the why with your students is important.
