Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today”

I choose this stanza of the song Beautiful by Christina Aguilera because it talks
about being positive in a bad day and being beautiful in your own way. We all have
bad days when it seems like nothing is going right. We don’t have control over the
way life plays out, but we do not have to be a victim to its tyranny. Most of our
challenges in life come from not knowing ourselves and ignoring our true virtues.
With a few insights and positive action steps, we can power through almost
anything that comes our way. Often we just feel “off” and we let it affect our day
without finding out what it is that made us feel down in the first place. We tend to
believe what we say. Our minds literally go in the direction of our words. Of course,
we can’t talk ourselves into being taller, but we can have a more positive outlook by
noticing the good, anticipating a positive outcome and speaking it out loud. Look
for something positive in each day, even if some days you have to look a little
harder. Never let a bad situation bring out the worst in you. Be strong and choose to
be positive.
The line “I am beautiful in every single way” in the song Beautiful by Christina
Aguilera talks about being different is not a bad thing. Imagine a world where there
is only one type of flower, one type of animal, one type of bird, one type of tree and
one type of human being. You can see that it is boring if there is only one type of
thing in this world because everything is the same and there is no uniqueness.
Different is beautiful, so laugh when you can, apologize when you should and let go
of what you cannot change. Dare to be different because different is beautiful.
Besides making the world a beautiful and interesting place to live, there is another
important lesson contained in the diversity that nature contains. The lesson is that
of acceptance and the appreciation of diversity. Being different does not make you
an outsider, it makes you unique and makes you stand out while looking into an
unchanged world. Being different is beautiful.
The world is beautiful because of diversity and differences yet, we all try to make
others, especially the people in our lives, exactly like ourselves. A person who has
no opinion of his own, but depends on the opinions of others, is a slave. To only
dream of the person you are supposed to be is to waste the person you are. Nobody
is as disappointed and unhappy as the person who spends their life longing to be
somebody else. The person who trims himself to suit everybody will soon whittle
himself away. If you don’t have a plan for your own life, you’ll only become a part of
someone else’s. We convince, criticize and control others to make them think and
do what we consider right. A shift in our attitude towards differences from
intolerance to appreciation changes all these attempts and makes us a lot more
peaceful within. It is better to be hated for what you are, than loved for what you
are not. Accept differences and become tolerant towards them and you will see the
beauty in the world .
