WHAT IS IMOCSEA?
The International Mathematics Olympiad Competition of
Southeast Asia, IMOCSEA for brevity, is an international competition in
Mathematics for Primary Levels and Secondary Levels. It aims to promote
excellence and proficiency in Mathematics (Arithmetic, Number Theory,
Number Theory, Algebra, Geometry, Logical Analysis, and Combinatorics)
through friendly global competitions and to promote Southeast Asia’s
tourism, with Philippines as the first destination, then Indonesia,
Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and
Vietnam to other country partners worldwide.

THE ORGANIZATION BEHIND IMOCSEA

ISOCSEA is organized by GLOBAL LEAGUE OF WINNERS, INC. or

GLOW. It is a duly registered nonstock, nonprofit organization
operating in Cebu City, Philippines, with a number of Ambassadors
coordinating with its promotion and administration. It is also
promoted worldwide by partner organizations in different countries.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN IMOCSEA?

Kindergarten students and all levels in the Primary School

(Grades 1 to 6) and all levels in the Secondary School (Grades 7 to 12)
are eligible to join ISOCSEA. There is no pre-requisite in participating
in this Olympiad.

Kindergarten & Lower Primary Levels (Grades 1 to 2)

➢ Arithmetic and Number Theory - Number & Number Sense, Fundamental Operations,
Cryptarithm/Alphametics, Least/Greatest Number, Ordinals, Fractions, and Other Operations.
➢ Logical Analysis – Comparison and Replacement, Excess-Shortage Calculations, Assumptions (Cars & Bicycles,
Chicken & Rabbit), Recursive Patterns, Page Number Problems, Tessellations; Shortest Path Analysis, Abstract
Reasoning and Data Handling.

NUMBER OF ITEMS AND DURATION OF IMOCSEA?

➢ There are twenty-eight (28) questions in this test:
• 20 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ)
• 8 Short-Answer Questions (SAQ)
➢ Each correctly answered MCQ shall be marked three (3) points
while each correctly answered SAQ shall be marked five (5)
points.
➢ No points shall be deducted for incorrect answers.

➢ The test’s duration is 90 minutes.

Higher 60% of the total number of participants shall qualify to the International
Round and shall be entitled to one of these awards based on their scores:
90 points or higher - Diamond Medal & Certificate
75 – 89 points - Gold Medal & Certificate
60 – 74 points - Silver Medal & Certificate
Below 60 points and Remaining
Participants in the 60% cut - Bronze Medal & Certificate
Top Scorers - Trophy (Glass)
Lower 40% of the participants shall receive Honorable Mention Certificate.

Champion - Trophy (Convertible to Cash for Overseas)
1st Runner Up - Certificate

Two (2) weeks after the culmination of the

International Round, GLOW will post the official result of the
