TECHINICAL SPECIFICATION

1 Electric Motor Driven Hydrant Pump Location - Plant Room:
1.1 Electrical Motor Driven Fire Pump of Capacity 137 m3/hr, 70 mtr head, with KW/HP 45
(60) ,2280 LPM positive suction Cast Iron Body, bronze impeller, cast steel shaft(C-40), base
frame, coupling, coupling guard etc complete set, as per technical data sheet enclosed. Make-
wilo/kirloskar/lubi
1.This section covers the details of requirements of the motor, starter and pump for the
electrically operated fire pump.
2.The electric fire pump shall be suitable for automatic operation complete with necessary
electric motor and automatic starting gear, suitable for operation on 415 volts, 3 phase, 50 Hz.
A/C system. Both the motor and the pump shall be assembled on a common baseplate of
fabricated MS channel type or cast-iron type.
3.The pump shall be only direct driven by means of a flexible coupling. Coupling guard shall also
be provided.
4.The fire pump shall be horizontal end suction centrifugal type. It shall have a capacity to
deliver 2280 LPM as specified, developing adequate head so as to ensure a minimum pressure
of 3.5 Kg per sq.cm at the highest and the farthest outlet.
The pump shall be capable of giving a discharge of not less than 150 percent of the rated
discharge, at a head of not less than 65 percent of the rated head. The shut off head shall be
within 120 percent of rate head.
The pump casing shall be of cast iron to grade FG 200 to IS:210 and parts like impeller, shaft
sleeve, wearing ring etc., shall be of non-corrosive metal like bronze/brass/gunmetal. The shaft
shall be of stainless steel.
Bearing of the pump shall be effectively sealed to prevent loss of lubricant or entry of dust or
water. The pump shall be provided with a plate indicating the suction lift delivery head,
discharge speed and number of stages. The pump casing shall be designed to withstand 1.5
times the working pressure.
5. The motor shall be squirrel cage A/C induction type suitable for operation on 415 volts 3
phase 50 Hz system. The motor shall be totally enclosed fan cooled type conforming to
protection clause IP 21 vide I.S. 4691. The class of insulation shall be B. The motor shall be rated
for continuous duty as per relevant IS and shall have a horsepower rating necessary to drive the
pump at 150 percent of its rated discharge
6.The motor starter shall be automatic star Delta type conforming to IS:1822-1967. The starter
shall not incorporate under voltage or overload trip or single-phase preventor. The starter
assembly shall be suitably integrated in the power control panel for the wet riser system. Each
pump shall be provided with vibration isolating pads of appropriate size.

2.0 Diesel Engine Driven Fire Pump [Stand by pump] Location - Plant Room:

2.1 Diesel Engine Driven Horizontal End Suction back pullout type Fire Pump of Capacity 137 m3/hr, 70
mtr head,2280 LPM positive suction with Rating KW/Hp -69, coolant agent Radiator Diesel Engine,
Governing class M2Cast Iron Body, bronze impeller, Cast steel Shaft(C-40), fitted with Gland
Packing, base frame, coupling, coupling guard etc , but without Battery , as per Technical Data Sheet
enclosed . SCOPE OF SUPPLY: PUMP + ENGINE +BASEPLATE + COUPLING + 300 LTRS FUEL TANK
WITHOUT BATTERY.Make-wilo/kirloskar/lubi
Engine Rating: -
The engine shall be cold starting type without the necessity of preliminary heating of the engine
cylinders or combustion chamber (for example, by wicks, cartridge, heater plugs etc.). The engine
shall be multi cylinder/vertical, 4-stroke cycle, water-cooled, diesel engine, developing suitable HP
at the operating speed specified to drive the fire pump. Continuous capacity available for the load
shall be exclusive of the power requirement of auxiliaries of the diesel engine, and after correction
for altitude, ambient, temperature and humidity for the specified environmental conditions. This
shall be at least 20% greater than the maximum HP required to drive the pump at its duty point. It
shall also be capable of driving the pump at 150% of the rated discharge at 65% of the rated head.
The engine shall be capable of continuous non-stop operation for 8 hours. The engine shall have
10% overload capacity for one hour in any period of 12 hours continuous run.The engine shall
accept full load within 15 seconds from the receipt of signal to start. The diesel engine shall conform
ton B.S. 649/IS 1601/IS 10002, all amended up to date.
Cooling System: -
The engine cooling system shall be radiator water cooled system. The radiator assembly shall be
mounted on the common baseplate. The radiator fan shall be driven by the engine as its auxiliary
with a multiple fan belt. When half the belts brake remaining belts must be capable of driving the
fan. Cooling water shall be circulated by means of an auxiliary pump of suitable capacity driven by
the engine in a closed circuit.
Fuel System: -
The fuel shall be gravity fed from the engine fuel tank to the engine driven pump. The engine fuel
tank shall be mounted either over or adjacent to the engine itself suitably wall mounted on brackets.
The fuel filter shall be suitably located to permit easy servicing.
The engine fuel tank shall be welded steel construction (3mm thick) and of capacity sufficient to
make the engine to run on full load for at least 8 hours. The tank shall be complete with necessary
supports, level indicator (protected against mechanical injury), inlet, outlet, over flow connections
drain plug and piping to the engine fuel tank. The outlet should be so located as to avoid entry of any
sediment into the fuel line of the engine. A semi rotary hand pump filling the engine fuel tank
together with hose pipe 5 mtr. Long with a foot-valve etc. shall also form part of the scope of work.
Lubricating Oil System
Forced feed Lubricating Oil system shall be employed for positive lubrication. Necessary Lubricating
Oil filters shall be provided and located suitably for convenient servicing.

3.0 Electrical Motor Driven Jockey Pump


Location - Plant Room :
3.1 Jockey Pump of Capacity 180 LPM(10 m3/hr), 70 mtr head , with 5.5 KW Vertical motor, with
stainless steel impeller & shaft, base frame, coupling, coupling guard etc complete in all respect,
SCOPE OF SUPPLY : PUMP SET. Make-wilo/kirloskar/lubi
1.This section covers the details of requirements of the auxiliary equipment necessary for the
operation of the fire pumps and the wet-riser cum down comer system.
2.The pump shall be directly driven from the electric motor. Flexible coupling and coupling guard
shall be provided.
3.The discharge and head of the jockey pump shall be as mentioned in Bill of Quantities.
Jockey pump shall be Horizontal end suction type. The pump casing shall be of cast iron and parts
like impeller, sleeve, wearing ring etc. shall be of non-corrosive metal like bronze, brass or
gunmetal. The shaft shall be of stainless steel.
Bearings of the pump shall be effectively sealed to prevent loss of lubricant or entry of the dust or

water. The pump casing shall be designed to withstand 1.5 times the working pressure.
4.The motor shall be squirrel cage A.C. induction type suitable for operation on 415 volts 3 phase 50
Hz, system. The motor shall be totally enclosed fan cooled type confirming to protection clause IP 21
of IS 4691. The class of insulation shall be B, synchronous speed shall be 3000 RPM/1500 RPM. The
motor shall conform IS 325-1978 and rated for continuous duty.
5.The motor starter shall be automatic star delta type with overload trip, but without under
voltage/no volt trip. Starter shall conform to IS 1822-1967.

Supplying, installation, testing and commissioning of electric driven suitable for automatic
operation and consisting of following, complete in all respects, as required: (water curtain Pump)
a)Horizontal type, multistage, centrifugal, mono block pump of cast iron body & bronze impeller
4.0 with stainless-steel shaft, mechanical confirming to IS : 1520.
b) Suitable HP squirell cage induction motor TEFC type suitable for operation on 415 volts, 3 phase,
50 Hz, ACsupply with IP55 class of protection for enclosure, horizontal foot mounted type with

900LPM pump at 35 mtr head
Providing, fixing, testing and commissioning of precharged air vessel (size250 mm dia & 1200 mm
height) fabricated shell from 8 mm thick & dished end 10 mm thick M.S. Plate for pressurization of
hydrant/complete with adequate pressure switches. (as per design / requirement). Air vessel
on top of wet riser piping shall be fabricated of at least 8mm thick steel to withstand the pressure,
5.0 with dished ends and supporting legs. This shall be of 250mm dia and 1.2m high. This shall be
complete with necessary flange connection to the wet riser piping and air release valve with
necessary piping to meet the functional requirement of the system. The air vessel shall be of
continuous welded construction and galvanized to I.S. 4736 – 1968. This shall be tested for twice
the working pressure.
Providing, fixing, testing & commissioning of flanged end 'Y'strainer made from MS body with
6.0 bottom and top removable flanges with nuts, bolts etc having filteration area at least 6 times the
cross-sectional area of the pipe. Make-Kartar/Zoloto/H Sarker

Supplying, fixing, testing & commissioning of double flanged Sluice valve of rating PN 1.6 with non-
rising spindle, bronze/gun metal seat, ISI marked complete with nuts, bolts,washers, gaskets and
conforming to IS 780 [PN -1.6 rating (16kg/cm2)]Make-Kartar/Zoloto/H Sarker.
1.Valves 80mm dia and above shall be cast iron double flanged sluice valve with rising spindle and
position indicator. Sluice valve in exposed positions shall be provided with cap topes for operation
with long handle key. Valves shall conform to IS:780 of appropriate class or as specified.
2.Chambers for underground sluice/butterfly valves shall be of brick masonry of size 60x60x75 cm
7.0 inside or as given in the schedule of quantities. Brick masonary chambers shall be plastered from
inside with 1:4 cement mortar (1 cement: 4 fine sand) and outside with 1 :4 cement mortar (1
cement: 4 coarse sand). Chamber shall be provided C.I. manhole frame and cover of size
600x600mm.
3.Contractor shall provide suitable ‘T’ keys for sluice valves with cap tops.

Providing, fixing, testing & commissioning of C.I. Butterfly valve conforming to IS : 13095 with nut,
bolts and washers complete . [PN -1.6 rating (16kg/cm2)]Make-Kartar/Zoloto/H Sarker.
Butterfly valves shall be cast iron body conforming to relevant IS specification with following
details:
a) Disc shall be CI heavy duty electroless nickel-plated abrasion resistant.

b) The shaft shall be EN-8 Carbon Steel with low friction nylon bearings.
c) The seat shall be drip tight constructed by bonding resilient elastomer inside a rigid backing.
d) Built-in flanged rubber seals.
e) Actuator to lever operated for valves above ground and ‘T’ keys operated valves below ground.
Manufacturer’s details on fixing and installation will be followed.

9.0 Providing, fixing, testing & commissioning of C.I. dual plated Non-return valve [PN 1.6 Rating
(16kg/cm2] complete 2 nos. matching flanges, rubber insertion, with nuts, bolts and washers etc
of following sizes .Make-Kartar/Zoloto/H Sarker.
1.Non-return valves will be used at locations to allow flow only in one direction and prevent flow
in the opposite direction.
2.NRVs shall be cast iron dual plate with cast iron body SS 304 seat, spring and hinge pins.
a) 150 mm dia

10.0 Providing & fixing dial type (150 mm dia) pressure gauge with isolation ball valve suitable for
working pressure of 250 PSI cost shall be of inclusive of providing any short pieces, nipples,
elbows etc as required. having calibration of 0-16 Kg/cm2.Make-H.guru/Emerald/Fiebig

The Pressure Gauge shall be constructed of die cast aluminum and stove enameled. It shall be
weather proof with an IP 55 enclosure. It shall be a stainless steel Bourden tube type Pressure
Gauge with a scale range from 0 to 16 Kg / CM square and shall be constructed as per IS: 3624.
Each Pressure Guage shall have a siphon tube connection. The Shut off arrangement shall be by
Ball Valve.
11.0 Providing, fixing, testing & commissioning of resilient rubber lined single arch vibration
eliminators suitable for raw water up to 45oC temperature, working pressure 10.0 Kg/cm2 and
test pressure 20 Kg/cm2 for :-
a) 150 mm dia
b) 100 mm dia
c) 80 mm dia
12.0 Supplying, installing, testing and commissioning 0 to 16 Kg/ cm2 ON/OFF digital pressure switc
hin delivery line of pump along with control wiring for auto starting and auto stopping of
hydrant /sprinkler and jockey pumps.Make-Honeywell/Danfoss/Jhonson controls.
Pressure switches shall be provided for switching on and off the pressurization pump at preset
pressures and also for switching off the fire pump at preset pressure. Being the main component
for initiating the signal for the operation of the pumps, the pressure settings shall be totally
reliable, sturdy in construction and of long life. The pressure settings shall be adjustable.
13.0 Providing, fixing, testing & commissioning of 'C' class heavy duty MS pipe conforming to IS 3589/IS
1239 including Welding, fittings like elbows, tees, flanges,tapers, nuts bolts, gaskets etc. and fixing
the pipe on the wall/ceiling with suitable clamp/support frame and painting with two or more
coats of synthetic enamel paint.Make- Tata/Zindal/Sail
Jointing
Joint for black steel pipes and fittings shall be with screwed forged fittings for pipes up to 50 mm
dia and butt weld fittings for pipes 65 mm dia & above pipe.
Pipes Protection
All pipes above ground and in exposed locations shall be painted with one coat of red oxide primer
and two or more coats of synthetic enamel fire red paint as per IS-5 Shade 536 of an approved
shade.The underground pipes shall be protected by coating and wrapping. The coating and
wrapping shall be done, in general, as per IS:10221-1982.
Pipe Supports
All pipes shall be adequately supported from ceiling or walls from structural clamps fabricated
from M.S. structural e.g. rods, channels, angles and flats. All clamps shall be painted with one coat
of primer and two coats of black enamel paint. The contractor shall provide inserts at the time of
slab casting or anchor fastner later.
Welding
a) Before welding, the ends shall be cleaned by wire brushing, filling or grinding. Each weld- run
shall be cleaned of slag before the next run in deposited.

b) Welding shall be done by certified welders only.


c) Welding at any joint shall be completed uninterrupted. If this cannot be followed for some
reasons, the weld shall be insulated for slow and uniform cooling.
d) Welding shall be done by manual oxy-acetylene or manual shielded metal arc process.
Automatic or semi-automatic welding processes may be done only with the specific approval of
purchaser.
e)Socket weld joint shall be done with low hydrogen type covered electrodes with manual shielded
metal arc process.
f)Joints between M.S.Pipes and fittings shall be made with the pipes and fittings having “V” groove
and welded with electrical resistance welding in an approved manner.
The entire piping shall be pressure tested by hydrostatic method upto a pressure of 1.5 times the
working pressure. The piping shall be slowly charged with water so that all the air is expelled from
the piping by providing a 25mm inlet with a stop cock. The piping shall be allowed to stand full of
water for a period of 2 hours and then the piping shall be put under pressure by means of
manually operated test pump or by a power driven test pump. The pressure gauges used for
testing shall be accurate and shall preferably the calibrated before the testing is carried out. All the
leakages and defects in joints revealed during the testing shall be rectified to the entire satisfaction
of the Engineer-in-charge. The system may be tested in sections/parts as the work of erection of
piping proceeds. The piping shall with stand 1.5 times the working pressure for at least 12 hours.

14.0 Providing, fixing, testing & commissioning of 100 NB G.I. class 'B' diesel pump exhaust pipe
including all fittings like bends, tee, clamps/structural steel support of suitable dia for the engine .
The pipe shall be provided with 12 mm thick Supercera Ceramic Fibre Rope.Make-
Tata/Zindal/Sail
Jointing
Joint for black steel pipes and fittings shall be with screwed forged fittings for pipes up to 50 mm
dia and butt weld fittings for pipes 65 mm dia & above pipe.

The entire piping shall be pressure tested by hydrostatic method upto a pressure of 1.5 times the
working pressure. The piping shall be slowly charged with water so that all the air is expelled from
the piping by providing a 25mm inlet with a stop cock. The piping shall be allowed to stand full of
water for a period of 2 hours and then the piping shall be put under pressure by means of
manually operated test pump or by a power driven test pump. The pressure gauges used for
testing shall be accurate and shall preferably the calibrated before the testing is carried out. All the
leakage’s and defects in joints revealed during the testing shall be rectified to the entire
satisfaction of the Engineer-in-charge. The system may be tested in sections/parts as the work of
erection of piping proceeds. The piping shall with stand 1.5 times the working pressure for at least
12 hours.
ELECTRICAL WORKS:
15.0 PANELS:
Supply, Insallation testing & commissioning of Electrical control panel of cubical construction,
floor mounted type, fabricated out of 2mm thick CRCA sheet, compartmentalised with hinged
lockable doors, dust and vermin proof, powder coated of approved shade after 7 tank treatment
process, cable alley, interconnection with suitable size copper conductor cable/solid copper strip,
having switchgears and accessories, mountings and internal wiring, earth terminals, numbering
etc. complete in all respect, suitable for main fire pump, pressurisation pump & diesel pump set
complete as per specification with following in coming and Outgoings, suitable for operation on
415V, 3 phase, 50Hz Ac Supply with enclosure protection class IP 42 as required :
General Features
The power and control panel shall be totally enclosed, free standing floor mounted cubicle type,
fabricated out of sheet steel not less than 16 guage. Where necessary, additional stiffening shall be
provided by angle iron framework.General construction shall be of compartmentalization and
sectionalisation such as mains incomes, electric fire pump, diesel fire pump, pressurization pump,
and control, so that there is no mix up of power and control wiring and connections in the same
sections as far as possible. The panel shall also have the space for cable allays. The space for cable
alleys shall be at least 200mm wide to the entire depth of panel. The panel shall be front operated
type with all connections accessible from the front. Front doors shall be hinged type. Back doors
shall be hinged type or removable type for inspection. The door hinges shall be of concealed type.
The doors for busbar chamber shall be of removable type with the help of bolts. The doors shall be
provided with quick fixing doors knobs with indication. The general arrangement of the panel shall
be got approved before fabrication the cubicle construction shall be to IP 21 as per
IS:2147.5.14.2.3 Busbar and Connections
The busbars shall be air insulated, and of aluminium of high conductivity electrolytic quality
(grade E 91 E to IS: 5082) and of adequate cross section. Current density shall not exceed 1.3 amps.
Per sq.cm. All connections to individual circuits from the busbars shall preferably be with solid
connections. The busbars and the connections shall be suitable covered with PVC sleeves or in an
approved manner. Busbars shall be suitably supported using non-hygroscopic insulated supports.
High tensile bolts and spring washers shall be provided at busbar joints.

Ics=100% Icu, with fully automatic Star/Delta starter suitable for 100 hp pump with overload
protection, current sensing type single phase preventor complete with all acceessories and
internal wiring required for automatic operation, selector switch for local/remote,

Jockey Pump 125 A, 50kA TPN MCCB, Ics=100% Icu, with Suitable HP fully automatic Star/Delta
starter with overload protection, current sensing type single phase preventor complete with all
acceessories and internal wiring required for automatic operation, selector switch for
local/remote, auto/manual/OFF operation.

Control for diesel enngine comprising- automatic/ manual selctor switch 7 3 attempts starting
device,timers & relays as required,pshbutton,start/stop in manual mode indicating lamp for
hogh/lowlub. Oil pressure,highwater temp & engine on indication,battary charger suitable for
12v/24v DC with boost & trickle selector switch,0-30v DC volt meter& 0-20A DC ammeter,all
standard relays & accessories for automatic operation of diesel engine.
SYSYEM CONTROLLER-SITC OF system controller to control operation of main electric fire pump,
diesel pump,pressurization pump, terrace pump in sequence as per specification consisting of
relays,timers.Sensors,annunciation window for fault indication ,complete as per specification.
Earthing Arrangement
GI strip 25mm x 5mm shall be run at the rear of the board. 2 nos. earth terminals shall be provided
at the ends of the GI strip for connection to earth system.
Terminal Blocks and Small Wiring
Terminal blocks shall be of heavy-duty type and generally not less than 15 amps 250V grade upto
100V, and 600V grade for the rest of the functions. They shall be easily accessible for maintenance.
All control wiring inside the panel shall be with PVC insulated copper conductor of 2.5 sq.mm. size
and 600V grade conforming to IS:694-1977. Suitable colour-coding may be adopted. Wiring
harness shall be neatly formed and run preferably function wise, and as far as possible segregated
voltage wise. Identification ferrules shall be used at both ends of the wires.
Labels
All internal components shall be provided with suitable identification labels. Suitably engraved
labels shall be fixed at the panel for all switches, instrument push buttons, indicating lamps etc.

TERRACCE FLOOR
1 Providing, fixing, testing & commissioning of C.I. Butterfly valve conforming to IS : 13095 with nut,

All pipes shall be adequately supported from ceiling or walls from structural clamps fabricated
from M.S. structural e.g. rods, channels, angles and flats. All clamps shall be painted with one coat
of primer and two coats of black enamel paint. The contractor shall provide inserts at the time of
slab casting or anchor fastner later.

a)Before welding, the ends shall be cleaned by wire brushing, filling or grinding. Each weld- run
shall be cleaned of slag before the next run in deposited.
b)Welding shall be done by certified welders only.
c)Welding at any joint shall be completed uninterrupted. If this cannot be followed for some
reasons, the weld shall be insulated for slow and uniform cooling.
d)Welding shall be done by manual oxy-acetylene or manual shielded metal arc process. Automatic
or semi-automatic welding processes may be done only with the specific approval of purchaser.
e)Socket weld joint shall be done with low hydrogen type covered electrodes with manual shielded
metal arc process.
f)Joints between M.S.Pipes and fittings shall be made with the pipes and fittings having “V” groove
and welded with electrical resistance welding in an approved manner.
The entire piping shall be pressure tested by hydrostatic method upto a pressure of 1.5 times the
working pressure. The piping shall be slowly charged with water so that all the air is expelled from
the piping by providing a 25mm inlet with a stop cock. The piping shall be allowed to stand full of
water for a period of 2 hours and then the piping shall be put under pressure by means of
manually operated test pump or by a power driven test pump. The pressure gauges used for
testing shall be accurate and shall preferably the calibrated before the testing is carried out. All the
leakage’s and defects in joints revealed during the testing shall be rectified to the entire
satisfaction of the Engineer-in-charge. The system may be tested in sections/parts as the work of
erection of piping proceeds. The piping shall with stand 1.5 times the working pressure for at least
12 hours.

5290 -1983 (Type 'A') including fixing with anchor fasteners and flanged tapping .Make-KARTAR,

as per IS: 444 with gun metal (GM) shut off nozzle having 6.5 mm dia orifice. The hose reel shall be
conforming to IS : 884-1985. Rate shall include 25 mm dia M.S. pipe (heavy class) connection from
Riser to hose reel, sockets, nipples, elbows and ball valve (25 mm dia). Drum shall be fixed on

pipe and flanges, nuts, bolts etc. Cost shall include a wall mounted box of M.S. class 'C' construction
(16 SWG) with glass door (4.0 mm thick) to house the above mentioned component complete with

walls/columns /ceiling etc. and making good the same as required. G.I. pipe/PVC sleeve of suitable
higher size shall be provided whenever the pipes are crossing the walls/floors and sealing the

Sprinkler Installation
Sprinkler heads shall be located in positions shown on the drawings. While slight relocation may
result from building construction features or interference from other services, maximum spacing
between sprinkler heads and coverage area shall not exceed those stipulated in the TAC
regulations and the NEPA 13-1994 Rules.
Allowance shall be made for such relocations within a radius of 1500 mm of the indicated positions
without additional cost. The Fire Protection Service Trade shall coordinate with the ceiling Trade
to set out the sprinkler locations to suit the site location of the unit grid. In general, all sprinklers
shall be located at the centre of the ceiling unit provision of about 10 % more and pipework than
required in TAC and NFPA Rules shall be included in this sub-contract. Chrome plated wire mesh
guards shall be used to protect the sprinkler heads which are liable to accidental or mechanical (at

1.Provide a lockable powder coated steel cabinet containing the following type of spare sprinklers.
2.Number of spare sprinklers to the provided in the cabinet shall be as specified in the schedule of
quantities. At least 5% of total sprinkler quantity installed in the system is required to be supplied
as mandatory spares.
3.The cabinet shall also contain one pair of spanners for each size and type of sprinkler.
4.Spare sprinklers shall be of the same specifications as that of the original sprinklers installed on
the project.

3.0 Providing and fixing 25 mm dia inspection & testing assembly with gun metal Gate valve, gun

entire or a part of the systems for repairs and maintenance.

VI Sub-Head - VI-FIRE DETECTION & ALARM SYSTEM


FIRE PANEL
1.0 SITC OF Micro processor based. Intelligent Addressable Main Fire alarm panel , Central Processing
Unit ,with the following loop module and with each loop capacity of 120 detector per loop with
total of 240 detectors and devices with loop length up to 2 kmtr, network communication card,
minimum 320 character graphics, LCD display with touch screen or other keypad and 1000 event
history logs in the non volatile memory (EEPROM) power supply unit at 230+ 5 % V, 48 Hrs back-
up with 24 volt sealed maintenance free batteries with automatic charger. The panel shall have
facility to connect printer to printout logs and facility to have integration with analog voice
evacuation system( which is part of the schedule of work under SH: PA System) and shall be
complete with all accessories . The panel should be compatible for integration with IBMS

Main Fire Alarm Control Panel
The control panel shall be microprocessor based networked system designed specifically for fire,

integration modules for BMS or any third party control/annunciation. The control panel shall
include all required hardware, software and site specific system programming to provide a
complete and operational system. The control panel(s) shall be designed such that interactions
between any applications can be configured, and modified . The control panel operational priority
shall assure that life safety takes precedence among the activities coordinated by the control panel.
The Loop shall contain its own microprocessor and shall be capable of operating in a local/degrade
mode (any addressable device input shall be capable of activating any or all addressable device
outputs) in the unlikely event of a failure in the main CPU.
The loop interface board shall be able to drive an NFPA Style 6 twisted shielded circuit up to
minimum of 6,250 feet in length. The loop Interface shall also be capable of driving an NFPA Style
6, no twist, no shield circuit up to 3,000 feet in length. In addition, loop wiring shall meet the listing
requirements for it to exit the building or structure. "T"-tapping shall be allowed in either case.
The FAS shall have pre-signal and Positive Alarm Sequence that is the system shall provide means
to cause alarm signals to only sound in specific areas with a delay of the alarm from 60 to up to
180 seconds after start of alarm processing. The system shall support a detector response time to
meet world annunciation requirements of less than 3 seconds.
To obtain early warning of incipient or potential fire conditions, the system shall support a
programmable option to determine system response to real-time detector sensing values abovethe
programmed setting. Two levels of Pre-alarm indication shall be available at the control panel:
alert and action.
The system shall provide means to allow panel programming either through an off-line software
utility program away from the panel or while connected and on-line. The system shall also support
upload and download of programmed database and panel executive system program to a Personal
Computer/laptop.
The system shall support two password levels, master and user. Minimum 3 user passwords shall
be available, each of which may be assigned access to the programming change menus, the alter
status menus, or both. Only the master password shall allow access to password change screens.
The system shall provide means to obtain a variety of reports listing all event, alarm, trouble,
supervisory, or security history.
There shall be no requirement for sequential addresses on the detectors and the alarm event shall
be a result or product of all cooperating detectors chamber readings.
The Addressable Main Power Supply shall operate on 120/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, and shall provide
all necessary power for the FACP.
The FAS shall be networkable in a peer to peer style and shall be able to communicate with other
network nodes. It shall be able to build a network on copper or fiber optics.

sensitivity. The detector design shall allow a wide sensitivity window, no less than 1 to 4% per foot
obscuration. This detector shall utilize advanced electronics that react to slow smoldering fires and
thermal properties all within a single sensing device.
2.The microprocessor design shall be capable of selecting the appropriate sensitivity levels based
on the environment type it is in and then have the ability to automatically change the setting as the
environment changes (as walls are moved or as the occupancy changes).
The intelligent Heat detector detection device shall include the ability to combine the signal of the
thermal sensor with the signal of the photoelectric signal in an effort to react hastily in the event of
a fire situation. It shall also include the inherent ability to distinguish between a fire condition and
a false alarm condition by examining the characteristics of the thermal and smoke sensing
chambers and comparing them to a database of actual fire and deceptive phenomena.

7.0 SITC OF Addressable Manual Call Point (Pull down / Break Glass Type). The device shall have an
LED which shall blink in normal state & get steady on activation to monitor the heath status of the

1.Stations shall be of the dual action design. Addressable manual fire alarm boxes shall, on
command from the control panel, send data to the panel representing the state of the manual
switch and the addressable communication module status. They shall use a key operated test-reset
lock, and shall be designed so that after actual emergency operation, they cannot be restored to
normal use except by the use of a key.
2.All operated stations shall have a positive, visual indication of operation and utilize a key type
reset. Manual fire alarm boxes shall be constructed of Lexan with clearly visible operating
instructions provided on the cover.

shall be SPDT rated at two amps 24 V DC. The device module shall contain an LED which blinks
upon being scanned by the Fire Alarm panel. Upon activation of the device, the LED shall be
latched on.

9.0 SITC OF Isolator Module for Isolating short / dewired / loose circuits with automatic resetting
arrangement. Isolator Base can also be proposed, however in that case needs to be considered with
each detector & module. The device shall have an LED which shall blink in normal state & get

1.A wire-to-wire short circuit fault on any circuit, before or after the circuit has been activated,
shall initiate a trouble signal and shall isolate that circuit from the rest of the system. The Fault
Isolator Device shall detect and isolate a short-circuited segment of a fault-tolerant loop. The
device shall automatically determine a return to normal condition of the loop and restore the
isolated segment. The fault isolator device shall be placed every [20] devices to limit the number
lost in the event of a short-circuit.
