1. FORMAL INVITATION
Formal invitation letter is a document that presents a formal
request for the presence of an individual, a group of people or organization
of an event
Formal Invitation can be written as letters and cards.
The examples of Formal Invitation :
* The opening of an art gallery a company.
* The meetings of conferences.
• The launching of a product.
• A special exhibition for promotion.
• The wedding ceremony.
• A Formal dinner with clients.
2. INFORMAL INVITATION
SOCIAL FUNCTION OF FORMAL
INVITATION:

1. to invite person to attend a certain event.


2. To maintain interpersonal relationship in formal context.
(=Untuk memelihara hubungan dua individu atau lebih
secara resmi).
3. to invite someone to formal and social events.
(= Untuk mengundang seseorang pada acara formal & social).
STRUCTURE OF FORMAL INVITATION:

1. LOGO
2. The person who invites (yang mengundang)
3. The person who is invited (the invitee = yang di undang)
4. The phrase of invitation. (ungkapan untuk mengundang seseorang)
5. The event/occasion. (acara)
6. The day, date, and time of the event.
7. The place or venue of the event. (tempat acara)
8. Additional information = RSVP.
CHARACTERISTICS OF FORMAL
INVITATION:
1. Formal invitation letters should have the LOGO of the company at the letter head.
2. It contains the address of the inviter & the invitee as well.
3. It is usually beautifully printed.
4.It contains R.S.V.P. (=Respondez, S’il Vous Plait. It means the invitee should respond
the invitation by calling or writing the host.
R.S.P.V. Contains :
• Telephone numbers,
• Contact persons, address, or emails.
HOW TO RESPOND FORMAL
