a. The committee shall provide the linkage of member to member, chapter to state organization, and state organization to international; encourage communication with external groups; and suggest ways to market and promote the Society. b. The committee shall have responsibility for reviewing editorial policy. c. The committee shall evaluate the effectiveness of Society publications and report its findings to the Administrative Board each biennium. 2. Membership The committee shall study and make recommendations related to membership issues and challenges. Necrology and membership reports shall be responsibilities of the committee. The committee shall receive and evaluate the recommendations of persons proposed for honorary membership and submit the names of qualified candidates to the Executive Board for vote. 3. Finance a. The committee shall propose guidelines for Executive Board approval with respect to the investment of funds, prepare the Available Fund budget for adoption by the Executive Board and provide for an annual audit. b. The budget shall be submitted to the Executive Board and membership for review and approval. 4. Nominations a. The Nominations Committee shall solicit nominees by print and electronic means for the positions to be filled. b. The committee shall present the nominees to the chapter for voting at the March meeting. 5. Rules The committee shall review and adjust rules, if necessary, to assure that chapter rules are in compliance with the International Constitution of DKG. 6. Leadership Development a. The committee shall be composed of members plus a chair appointed by the president. b. The committee shall be responsible for leadership development at the local level and present a training session for incoming officers and leaders. c. The committee is responsible for promoting leadership development at all levels of the Society. 7. . Scholarship/Grant-in-Aid. The committees shall select individuals who meet committee standards to receive scholarship monies toward advanced studies. This committee has established a mini grant award for members to use in their classroom.Two awards per year will be given. 8. Educational Excellence -1st.V.P. Chairs this committee. 9. a. EEC Sub-Committee: Schools for Africa Provides access to quality, basic education for children focusing on girls, orphans, or other vulnerable youngsters. We work in unison withUNICEF to achieve mutual goals. 10. b. EEC Sub-Committee: Beginning Teacher Support Identify new teachers in counties represented by membership and offer support in areas where we can best help them to achieve their fullest and that of their students. 11. c. EEC Sub-Committee: World Fellowship The committee suggests ways to raise funds to support the International World Fellowship committee. 12. d. EEC Sub-Committee: Legislative Issues Committee shall be knowledgeable of current and proposed state legislation so we as educators can be informed and take action when necessary to promote an outcome to achieve higher goals for students and educators.
