Law of Reflection Experiment Results

The document describes an experiment to prove the law of reflection. A light box was used with a mirror to reflect a light beam onto a book. A pencil traced the light to measure the angle of incidence and reflection. The results showed the angles were equal, confirming the law of reflection that the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection.

Law of Reflection Experiment

Aim: The aim of this is experiment is to prove the law of reflection

Discussion: One of the problems that were encountered in this experiment is

the tracing of the line. There results were hard to collect because it was
difficult to trace line of light.

Risk Assessment: A risk with this experiment is that we could electrocute

ourselves when using the power generator. To make sire this does not
happen we can be extra safe when using the power pack.

Equipment:
• Protractor
• Power Pack
• Penci
• Book
• Hodgson Light Kit

Method: The light box was plugged into the power pack. The light shone
onto the book. When the mirror deflected the light on to the book a pencil
was used to trace the lines created by the light. A protractor was used to find
the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection.

Results:
Attempts Angle of Incidence Angle of Reflection

First Attempt 52 Degrees 52 Degrees

Second Attempt 57 Degrees 57 Degrees

The point of the experiment was to see if the angle of reflection and the
angle of incidence were the same as the reflection law states. As the results
above show the angle of reflection and the angle of incidence are the same.
Conclusion: In conclusion the law of reflection is correct because the results
we collected show that they are equal.
