Job Title: Laboratory Attendants

Reports: Laboratory Technicians

Duty Station: Project Site

Job Purpose / Objective:

i. Offer support in conducting accurate material testing, quality assurance, and


maintaining the integrity of construction materials used in road construction projects.
ii. Responsible for supporting the testing and quality control of construction materials
used in road projects.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Material Testing Support:


i. Assist laboratory technicians and engineers in performing tests on construction
materials such as aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and soil.
ii. Follow standardized testing procedures and protocols.

2. Equipment Maintenance:
i. Prepare testing equipment and apparatus for various tests.
ii. Clean and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of
test results.

3. Sample Collection and Preparation:


i. Collect samples of construction materials from project sites and prepare them for
testing.
ii. Ensure proper labelling and documentation of samples.

4. Data Entry and Record Keeping:


i. Record and document test results accurately in laboratory databases and
systems.
ii. Maintain organized records of test samples, procedures, and results.

5. Quality Control: Assist in verifying the quality and properties of construction materials,
ensuring they meet engineering specifications.

6. Health and Safety Compliance:


i. Follow safety protocols and guidelines during material handling and testing.
ii. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

7. Collaboration: Collaborate with laboratory staff, engineers, and project managers to


provide accurate testing support.

8. Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

1. Accuracy of Test Results: Evaluate the precision and correctness of recorded test results.
2. Sample Management: Assess the accuracy and organization of sample collection and
preparation.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Measure the maintenance and functionality of laboratory
equipment.
4. Record Keeping: Evaluate the accuracy and completeness of recorded test data.

1. Attention to Detail: Precision in preparing and conducting tests to ensure accurate


results.
