“CASE STUDY ON VISITING AND OBSERVING AN AUTO

REPAIR SHOP”

On MAY 16, 2023, we BTLED 2 student together with our adviser


conducted an experiential activity or a visitation of auto repair shop for our
subject automotive technology. At M’s Sport Auto Repair Shop, owned and
manage by Mac Darren Balitnang and is located at Lingtan Bangued Abra.
The training workshop in automotive was organized with the objective of
equipping participants with practical skills and knowledge in the automotive
industry.
Upon visiting the area, I don’t feel any excitement and enjoyment
because the environment is very dirty and not organized. There is no area or
place for the new car that they will going to repair because it to messy. And
also there is no waiting area for the costumers. I did not enjoy the visitation
because I expect that we will learn a lot and we will experience hands on
training theoretical insights, and practical applications in the field of
automotive technology.
To address the problem, the owner or manager must improve or
organize the area they must assess the current layout of the shop, and
implement standardized procedures and guidelines for each repair area to
ensure consistency and efficiency in the workflow. There must be a clean
work place for the worker and an organizer or cabinet for the tools or
materials they were using. In the customer waiting area, they must furnish
the waiting area with comfortable seating any refreshments to enhance the
customer experience, and they must also provide amenities such as
charging stations, Wi-Fi access, and a TV screen displaying educational
automotive content.

The visit and observation revealed for the improvement within the
shop. This visitation highlighted the importance of continuous improvement
and enhanced costumer’s satisfaction and adoption of advanced automotive
technologies. The case study underscores the significance of continuous
training to empower professionals and ensure the industry remains at the
forefront innovation and the insights and recommendations provided can
serve as a guide for other car repair shop owners and managers to optimize
their operations and deliver superior customer service.
