Objectives:
1. Illustrates polygons: (a) convexity; (b) angles; and (c) sides.
POLYGONS
In the given sets of figures, which group are Polygons, and which are Not Polygons?
Set A Set B

Set A is the group of polygon.

PARTS OF A POLYGON
1. The Sides are the non-collinear segments.
2. Vertices are the endpoints of each.
3. The Angles on the inside of a polygon formed by each pair of adjacent sides.
Interior Angle is the inside angle of a polygon formed by two
adjacent sides.
Exterior Angle is the angle formed when one side of a polygon
is extended. (adjacent to an interior angle)
4. A Diagonal is a segment joining non-consecutive vertices.

CLASSIFICATION OF POLYGONS
A polygon is Convex if all segments joining any two points of the polygon lie completely inside the polygon,
otherwise the polygon is Concave.

TYPES OF POLYGONS
1. Equilateral Polygon is polygon that has all sides equal.
2. Equiangular Polygon is polygon that has all angles equal.
3. Regular Polygon is both equilateral and equiangular.
Put a check mark if the following classifications are evident in the figure.
