1.The Church is One
1. It means that the Local and Universal Church is
one or united as one people of God
2. God’s Spirit unites us in Christ.
3. Unity is not uniformity. We can be united
amidst our differences.
4. Being united is a gift.
5. to strengthen unity, dialogue is needed
 2. The Church is Holy
1. It is God who makes the Church HOLY.
2. To be Holy means to “perform acts of Holiness: this
is not equal to being prayerful or devotional...Service
makes one Holy.
3. To be Holy is every one’s task.
3. The Church is Catholic
1. The term catholic means universal, complete, all-embracing.
2. This should not mean exclusivity. It should be interpreted as
God's -all-embracing love.
3. It's about the Church's direction. The Church should be a
missionary, proclaiming and witnessing God's love.
 4. the Church is Apostolic

1. The apostolicity often refers to the apostolic

origin of the hierarchy of the Church.
2. But the emphasis should be apostolic.
Meaning we are all sent to be of service.
