ACT I

SCENE I

[Enter MAN]

MAN

O coffee, elixir of the gods,

How I long for thy sweet nectar.

But rst, I must prepare thee,

With care and diligence.

[MAN takes out coffee beans]

These beans, from whence they came?

A distant land, where coffee grows.

And now, they're here, in my kitchen,

Ready to be transformed.

[MAN grinds the coffee beans]

The grinder grinds, the beans are crushed,

Their aroma lls the air.

A symphony of scents,

A promise of delight.

[MAN takes out a coffee lter]

Now, let me lter thee,

To remove all impurities.

A pure and clean brew,

That's what I desire.

[MAN pours the coffee grounds into the lter]

Water, oh water, source of life,

I now add thee to the grounds.

Together, we shall create,

A beverage of the gods.

[MAN pours water into the coffee maker]

Now, let the brewing begin.

The water heats, the coffee steeps,

And anticipation grows.

[MAN exits]
