My task is to tell you about London. London is the capital of the UK.

It is situated on the
river Themes. There is much to see in London. English people say: “When you’re tired of
London, you are tired of life”. There are four parts in the British capital. The City is a
commercial and trade centre. The East End is the part where working people live. The West
is the centre of London. Here are the historical places and famous parks. The Buckingham
Palace is the residence of the Queen. The Trafalgar Square is in the centre of the city. You
can see the Nelson’s Column and beautiful fountains in it. British people put the Christmas
tree on the Trafalgar Square. Westminster is the administrative part of London. There you
can see the Palace of Westminster which is the official name of the Houses of Parliament.
Westminster Abbey is an old church. The British kings and queens are crowned and buried
there. A lot of scientists and writers are buried in Westminster Abbey too. The Tower of
London was built in the 11th century by William the Conqueror. It was a royal palace, a
prison and even a zoo. Now it is a museum. Black ravens live there. To my mind London is
one of the best cities in the world.
